dealership service

I took my car to the dealership to get check out so i could pass emissions and get inspected, i was throwing 2 codes p0171 and p1168, they originally were going to charge 143 to clear the 171 said they needed to clean the throttle body, and 80 to clear the 168 TSB pcm needed flashed with an update. But then they said that cleaning the throttle body didnt cure the 171 and ordered a mass air flow sensor. Is it justified for me to ask not to pay for the original work they did (cleaning the TB) because it did not cure the ailment of the vehicle?

Is the $143 just to diag the car? Thats a lot of $$$ just to do that. If they said that cleaning the throttle body WOULD fix the p0171 and it didnt they shouldn't charge you any labor to install the maf since the tech didn't diag it right the first time.

its like 89.99 for the diagnostic, but they thought they could get the 171 code to clear by first cleaning the tb second new maf sensor and now tomorrow a supercharger boost bypass valve. Im not looking to be charged for the cleaning and the maf because they did nothing
