As far as I know, iTunes is one of the programs NOT supported by WINE.

there are other alternatives to itunes that work just great under linux. best thing to do is to dual boot between linux and xp, until you get used to doing things in a different way. sure there is a transition period, but its well worth it for something thats more secure and virus free. i recommend you give ubuntu a try. you can install in windows and have it dual boot without having to partition your drive. than if you ever want to uninstall, you can just do it from add/remove programs.

Heres the new problems. My harddrive had 3 partitions. One is the recovery partition from HP in fat32, the other was XP NTFS, and the last was the Linux partion. After I tested linux, I decided I didn't like it, so I deleted that partition. So with no linux I boot up and the damn Grub loader still loads. Ok I select XP and that loads. I decided meh what the hell I've been having issue so I reboot again and select the windows NT operating system in the grub loader which is actually the windown recovery tool. It loads, reloads windows, and reboots... nothing. It cant find a valid bootloader thanks to grub. Just a black screen with a cursor.
Anyone have a bootable cd with NTFS support? or can they make me a bootable XP recovery CD? I need to get that machine back up for porn use. |

try to torrent an xp cd or something, then wipe that partition and put xp back on. Or just run the HP recovery.

I keep all my data in a slave drive for problems like these. Ubuntu starts up correctly maybe once every twenty attempts. When I was first messing around with it it locked me out plenty of times, so I had to reinstall a clean W7 plenty of times and broke two hard drives.

You should always have a seperate drive for your data if you can. If not, create a data partition and an operating system partition. That way if things go bad, you can just format the OS Drive or partition and start over while not losing any data.
If you are on Windows, just change the directory for all of your files (My Documents/Music/Video...) to the data drive so that it operates like normal!
