So stealerships suck...

Ok so i go into the stealership yesterday for some minor things with my car. The two main ones were two cel's i keep getting. One is a P0457 which is a gas cap one. Basically i know it is not a huge deal but when i am doing 80 on the highway and suddenly a cel comes on i get worried. Ok second code is a P0244 Wastegate control solenoid valve malfunction (high input). Well this is worrying me alittle but not really because it only happened when i changed my stage 2 map back to stock. Either way it was a concern to me. So i go in they do the other stuff and put the car out front so as the guy is talking to me i asked him what did you guys find out about the codes. He replies oh we didn't do anything, we tested for leaks in the system and there were none so we cleaed the gas cap code, and the wastegate is working fine so we cleared that. I think i actually made that face and i think i had the question marks above my head. Then he goes well if the codes come back come in. I said to him i have had these each more then five times. Oh well thats not good next time they come on come right here. He is like or we can keep the car for a few days drive it arround and see if we can get it to throw the code. I don't get this what is the point of having check engine lights if the dealer just tell you to leave the car with them for a few days. Whatever i think i am gonna take anthony's advise spend 10 bucks and buy myself a gas cap. An then spend 3k and buy myself a new turbo so i don't have to worry about that more. Sorry for the rant, but i was going in there thinking he was just gonna give me crap about my downpipe and not help me, instead hew as just a moron. All i know is i am going back the next time i get the codes and saying they just came on fix it nowwww. HAve a nice day everyone and stay away for the service department .

If you are still under warranty, I don't think that is a ridiculous request.

Did you actually ask for a new gas cap?

Yes, he said i can't just do that with there being a problem with yours. Let me tell you tho that he just replaced my brakes by accident. He saw them the other day and said wow they are low again after only 4k miles you must have been right and somehting was wrong with them i will order new ones and we will do them wednesday. Ok so yesterday when i went in this guy was like oh your brakes had like 50 percent left but i replaced them anyway. Don't worry is ent the old ones back saying they were making a noise and thats why we replaced them, and i quote "Cause i don't wanna pay 300 for replacing your brakes for no reason." He will do 300 dollar brakes for the second time under warranty but won't give me a damn gas cap or look into my my waste gate. I really hope my car blows up when i am not in it so i can sue his ass and own a subaru dealership. Free parts for everyone and we only service modded cars.

Really wil you think thats a bad idea lol. They drive it while i am there too much as it is. And this one won't let me into the shop. The funniest thing is i am sitting in the waiting room... waiting. And i hear my car start up come walking out and the service guy goes "yes?" i said oh nothing i heard my car start up... he siad how do you know its yours, its probably not... yeah it was mine i think i know the sound of my car mofo don't try to put one past me lol.

yea i hate dealerships. i was dealing with peruzzi nissan and they forgot to order the part! i am sorry that happened with your cel. did you void your warranty

I am sure if they wanted to put up a fight they could but for now i think the guy is just lazy over worked and stupid. When i get them again i will be going back not as happy.

Not really... the wastegate cell is kind of worrying but i have a idea why it is doing it and the gas cap could be a potential problem if its a leak. Either way i am gonna wait till they come on again and go in. And flip out.

BMW won't let there employees take other peoples bimmers out for anything other than around the block. I told them I had some problems and gave them permission to take my M3 to the highway and hit triple digits to get the problem solved. I came back and I asked how it drove and the guy is like I dunno we are only allowed to take it around the block.
