Time to oil the Flowers?

I posted a WTB ad for an engine block to make a flower pot out of, and Nick Merrone hooked me up with a V6 Buick block. Anyhow the WTB thread became a little discussion on the topic. Anyhow I did it, and its been 2 weeks since.... I was going to paint it, but I think a rusted iron block will be better looking, and less work.

not gonna lie... it looks like ****. its a piece of trash on your front lawn... it doesn't look good and it doesn't fit in at all with landscaping.

i dunno... maybe if you cleaned it up so it didn't look like a rusted hunk of metal, put some nice flowers in it and placed it somewhere where it didn't look like you're tossing junk parts in yard it would look ok.

Landscaping lol, I hardly have a yard, its just a puppy pee place. Meh I like it, its character, as for the flowers, they need to grow, especially the white ones.

sorry, i just think it looks like crap. it looks like something you'd expect to see in a trailer park or some ghetto.

if you're going to do something with stuff like this, at least put effort into it instead of tossing it in your front yard by a tree.

IMHO .02 - great idea/concept. really unique. I just think it would look much better in a different location. Like on a porch or front step... My Fung Schui is telling me it just looks out of place right in the middle of the front yard like that... Though I may be a bit anal, since I used to work in landscaping.

the engine block is creative but definetly doesnt look right smack dab in your front lawn, outback maybe or by the tool shed garden
