PS3 not working

so i was playing ps3, gta IV, the other night, evrything started and ended fine but while i was playing, i tryed to get online to kick some ass, but it wouldnt connect me. so i gave up tryin after like 6-7 tries and turned off the system.

today when i tried to kick some ass in fifa 09 i tried turning on the system. i get the red power button, but when i hit it, it goes green.... then yellow... beeps 3 times... then blinks red

i've done some searching around and found that there is a orange light of death?? some say if u see this orange light your ps3 has turned to sh**s and it's dead

i think its only a yellow light thought, and ive read that this means it's over heating. i dont keep it in the most ventilated area in my room, but it's been there for about 2+ years now and this i my first real problem.

so my question has anyone run into the problem where you ps3 wont turn on , and gives you the red to green to yellow to a blinking red during the power up period? (wont go past blinking red, or eject a disk)

any help is appreciated. when i did a search on the net it said some people have sent it for repair, so im just checking if anyone has hit this problem and found a way around it? if not, looks like ill be sending it in.

yes if you open it up, you might as well buy a new one

even if it is out of warranty, they don't want to touch hardware thats been opened

did a quick search, found a youtube vid to test your fan, turning on the consule and holding the eject button. this got my disc to eject, but still wont power on.

other videos also said this test f***s up your system?

and other say it cost $159 to have sony send you a box and have it repaired?

anyone got an Xbox for sale?? hahah
