All about Cable / Satellite Providers

What cable /satellite provider do u have, pros and cons and prices.

I'm paying way too much for comcast right now and I'm looking to switch. Any feedback would be great including specials running right now.

I had a great set-up with DirectTv but dumped it for the ease of wiring the rest of the house with regular cable. Kinda wish I didn't. For overall channel choice, DTV is hard to beat, especially if you load up on all the packages. 2 years ago it was significantly cheaper than a comproably equiped Comcast package, but I couldn't comment today.

Best set-up IMO, and one I'm going back to, is to have cable thru out the house, and both cable and satelite on main TV or HD units. Best of both worlds, especially with HD since Comcast HD is considered a better signal.

Hugh drawback of DirectTv only is no Comcast Sports channels. Can't get it on DTV, and that means saying goodbye to 80% of Sixers,Flyers and Phillies games.

You should ask if it's ok if your upstairs neighbors agree to it.

Cause I don't think that'd be a problem. >.>

Just give your kind upstairs neighbors access to the satellite.

I'm stuck with cable 'cause it's the only way I can get Howard Stern On-Demand.

satellite blows, everyone I've known that had satellite got rid of theirs.

Here's a tip of how to pay very little for comcast and get free premium channels. Call 1800C0MCAST, tell the operator that you would like to cancel your subscripition. They will do anything to keep you on board. My bill is half priced and I get HBO/Max for free for a 6 month period. After 6 months, I call up and say I would like to cancel. Bam, same deal for another 6 months.
I found this out when I got a cool cable guy installing my cable internet.

I called to cancel my subscription cause I had a decent offer for satellite service in hand.

I called Comcast and the retention guy threw me an offer and I took it. Now I pay $55/month (plus taxes, fee, etc, etc... probably another $10) for basic digital with HBO and Max for 12 months.

Not great but better than what I was paying before. No contract so I can still cancel anytime a better offer comes up. Seems the best times to find deals every year is around Halloween, anyway.

I have comcast i used to have problems with it but over the past year nada it has been great. We have a hidef box in the living room and i didn't want one in my room cause my tivo didn't like the box too much and the dvr's they have are meh. So either way i like it.
