911 grinding 3rd to 4th

Our 911 Porsche still grinds a little going from 3rd to 4th. We did a trans flush and put in redline tranny fluid.

We are now considering additives. Any ideas? We were reading about "Syncroshift" and "Lucas". Which one or what else can anyone recommend?

if there is a mechanical problem all the additives in the world won't make a difference.

Sounds like it could be a synchro... they love it when the oil is gooey and thick. Try putting heavier fluid in.

+1

Try the additives anyways. I don't think it will help but at this point it's not really going to hurt either.

Well I'm glad I read this thread, can someone say the best place where to pick up synchromesh? I am going to change my tranny fluid soon.

snycromesh isn't magical or anything, I've used it before. If you're using the type of fluid that recommended for your trans and its still grinding you've likely got a mechanical issue. But hey, keep changing your fluid if it makes you feel better.

I run synchromesh in Getrag and I love it. But what I meant in my first post, is that if your synchro is defective, it won't matter what fluid you use, it'll still grind.
