Anyone ever import a car from Canada?

Odd question I guess. But I have my eye on something that's located in Canada. I've read up on the net about how to get it into the US. I see now why most people give up. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this or knows of someone who has done this and can give me some tips.

Thanks.

RHD imported from Japan. After hours of research I gave up. Too hard/risky. Somebody should start a company or something to do this ligitimately. Lots of shady importers out there too. I'm not going to risk it.

It's been done before, but people got stupid and greedy, even when they had the market cornered. The problem with a company like that is the rediculous startup cost of buying X-amount of cars to just demolish for the gov't crash test ratings and safety inspection. It'd be awesome if someone decided to take it on on the East Coast, though.

My buddy brought over a cdm toyota with a 2.5TT motor. He just paid some fees here and there. Maybe its different for a jdm model, but you can get away with it if you register it as a show car.

Aren't Skyline R32s and R33s legal to import? I thought Motorex already crashed a whole bunch of them and the only ones that weren't legal were R34s?
