2004 Subaru WRX STi

My 04 Sti Build thread from Nasioc.

Well i figured now is the time for me to start a memember journal.
I bough my 04 PSM STi in the summer of 07. I was searching for a long time to find one i wanted, I searched 04-07's, i was never particular on the 06/07's so i geared my search towards an 04/05. After talking to a few people who had STi's and calling up some tuner shops and Lurking around the forums, i decided on an 04 in silver (i have always had a thing for silver).

From the Summer of 06 to 07 i searched like a madman for a decent 04 with low miles with little to no mods. I finaly found one that really got my eye. I found it at Kings Auto show in brooklyn, shady neighbor hood but they had a good lookin 04, w/ 8000 miles and all service papers from the previous owner. So me my father and my mechanic friend went to take a look at it. Wow was a i surprised. it was completely mint. interior was flawless and the exterior had some very minor scratches but nothig realy bad. So with some finageling i drove the car off the lot.

So now i'm 21 with my dream car! i immediatly joined the forums and started reading every little thing i could about the car, whats good , whats bad, which parts are good investments yada yada...

My first mod was a catback exhaust. I originaly got a perrin CB from a friend who was getting rid of it, kept it on for like a month but wanted something louder! (the louder the better) but as being just dropped 17000 cash on a car left me pretty much broke. I ended up hearing about this SR*S exhaust on Ebay that was getting some good reviews on some of the boards, I have never been one for the Ebay parts but for 200 bucks i figured what the hell! I got the exhaust and was immediatly suprised on its quality and the sound, nice and loud but deep! really accents the boxer grumble. After that i waited a few more months bought a Catless DP and took the car to Dave @ MSPT to get the stage deuce!

Some Pics:

So that was when the car was pretty much clean and still almost stock.(except the stageII)

Fast Forward to August 08. The mod bug bit again! I decided i wanted more power. After looking around i settled on the fact that 400whp or better was my goal! so i started there. I didnt want to go rotated due to the fact that i was going to be piecing everything together. I Found a great deal on a FPgreen 2.4" 8cm, so i picked it up. Knowing i couldnt just drop in this turbo, I called up Dave and asked for some advise on where to go from there. Well after some talking and contemplating I picked up a set of DW850cc injectors, Labonte wat/Meth kit, CSS FMIC and Walboro fuel pump.
Did the whole install myself, i did hit a few snags and problems but worked them out, took the car to dave to tune it, car ran good first 2 passes then the gasket between the turbo and the uppipe blew!. So had to take the car back home and pull off the turbo and get a new gasket, but before that i found a good deal on a set of GTspec GenII headers and UP w/ an 38mm EWG fittied on to it! Got all the parts and gaskets and reinstalled the turbo with the new headers and EWG. Then Called Ray @ turbotek to have him give it a tune! I met a up w/ a friend who was also getting tuned and we rolled down to meet Ray @ KrazyHouse Kustoms (if you can check out this shop some of the most insane lifted trucks i have ever seen and some of the nicest guys i ever met! there is a video that i have to get from my friend.
Pic of the car next to there lifted Excursion!

After Rays tune the car put down 360whp 400wtq @13lbs no meth. Thats where we stopped becasue the clutch was gonna start giving out and the TGV sensor busted (yes i know i should of done the TGV deletes but i was pressed for time) which was making the car lean out real bad! and had some spiking issues. But the car was rippin it up good!

Fast Forward to the present:

The Mods currently on the car:
Fpgreen 2.4"
GTspec GenII header & UP
38mm EWG.
Labonte Wat/Meth kit.
DW 850cc inj.
Perrin Inlet
Perrin Short Ram
Css FMIC
SR*S Full TBE
AEM A/F gauge and prosport boost Gauge

Quick vid me and a friend made of me doin WOT flyby with the EWG dumping to ATMOS.

Me and my Evo friend playing in the Snow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4BDo...e=channel_page

So a few weeks ago i got into an accident Slid on Ice and hit a Road sign! Banged up the quarter panel pretty good but miraculously missed the tail light my millimeters!. Well to me this is an opportunity to do some body work that otherwise i would never do. So i called a friend and we made a plan! she is getting Custom painted (not revelaing the color just yet) and a INGs body kit installed! i would of like a widebody but i'm broke. So me and my friend got to work looking over the car and picking out every little ding dent and scratch that needed to be fixed. then is was time to get workin!
pics are coming
The Damage

Big ass intercooler!

My boy doin his thing! with pedobear keeping close watch! haha

After alot of hammering

So after the damage was fixed and every ding and dent on the car filled and sanded it came time to choose..should i stay stock silver and go all out and go w/ something custom. Now anyone that knows me will tell ya its always go big or go home with me. So ofcoarse i went custom. Thats where the fun started. After about a month a searching for the right color I made my choice.

Some pics of the painting process
hood off...

Doors off...

along w/ the trunk...

underside of the hood painted...(crappy cell phone pic)

After every jam, nook and cranny on the car trimmed out...

In the booth prepped and ready to go.

Paint going on...

After 4 hours of prepping and painting heres what we pulled ut of the booth...

Now I know i have to clear my headlights and drop it and get a nice set off wheels... well 2 of the 3 have been completed,
I purchased a set of BC BR series coilovers...

also I came across a new clutch i was in desperate need for,

http://www.clutchmasters.com/index.p...=GetPage&id=17

Here are some pictures of the car finally sitting on a nice set of coilovers

So as far as Rims and tires go i settled on a set of 18x9.5" Rota grids in Gold

and a set of BFgoodrich g-force KDW2's in 255/40R 18

The wheels are no on the car as of yet do to financial constraints but by saturday i should be all set.

So thats it for now more updates will come as i do more work and get some more money. I still have a few more engine upgrades i need to install,

And i would like to just state that all the work on this car has been done by my own hands, and my friends who offered to help, This car is my pride and joy and i have put alot of money, time, blood sweat and tears into makeing it what she is today.

Not a huge fan of the body kit but it does look good for what it is. Gold wheels are a must imo so good choice on the new wheels. I'd also black out the intercooler piping that's hanging out of the bumper. I look forward to seeing more progress so keep us updated.

There you go, now you got it - Get some proper wheels, some good offsets, and it will be straight murder.

My original plan b4 the accident was coilovers. Front lip and a set of 18x8.5 advan RGII in gunmetal. But after the accident I revamped my game plan and I knew that I wasn't goin to be able to afford the advans this time around. So I went with the rotas. To be honest they look great in person. And the gold really accent the black real nice

Thanks for the compliments guys
