fmic Question for wrx owners

Just wondering what brand you guys are using?

Is the a good deal at 500 or so brand new?
IT is an OBX
-Core dimensions: 20" wide, 9" tall, 2.5" thick
-Endtank to endtank: 30" wide
-Polished aluminum intercooler piping
-Oversized for maximum air flow
-Increase horsepower and torque
-Direct bolt-on
-Includes all necessary hardware
-Installation instructions included
-Requires short ram intake and removes standard fog lights
-Must weld own BOV flange if necessary
-Lifetime warranty from manufacturer defects

thanks

not sure about that one but i think there are a few guys here ready to purchase the 'ebay' intercoolers.... they have top mounts and front mounts and are about $300 shipped for the top mount and $400 shipped for the front mount and include all necessary hardware for install. if you search on nasioc or clubwrx for them you'll read good things.
i talked to the guy who owns the company and if you buy 3 and have them all shipped together he'll knock the price down a little bit even... thats the way i'd go if i was in need.

I would read around other subby forums and get more feedback about there intercooler kits. If other people have had good luck with it and made power and was fabricated well and fits with little to no problems. Then I say get it. I'm all about getting something cheap but works really well.

Don't forget the supporting mods that you will need for a FMIC.

I dont know if they are the same company, but obx makes a header for the 3g GS/RS. The product is crap and not worth it.

i dont know man....if i were you i would go with a product that people have delt with , and know more about then a product thats cheaper...and people know less about. But thats just my .02 i could be wrong they could make a great product, but to buy it and then find out rather then go with sumthing like txs, greddy, or APS and spend a little bit more money. I have the TXS version 2, and i can say personaly that it wasnt a bad install and never have had a problem with it..if that helps any.

There are a lot of odds and ends needed to install a FMIC on a WRX that are probably not included with that kit. Fuel lines, PCV hoses, brackets, overflow tank, bumper beam, etc. All of this is included with the TXS kit. To make life easy for you or whoever will do the install, get a complete kit. I had a Hyperflow kit on my WRX and have installed a couple of TXS kits (same thing) on others' cars, and I highly recommend them.

Prolly the vf 34 like everyone else lol. Man the turbo is just so popular. Too bad im ditchin mine for the new momentum ej5-40t. Check the dyno plots vs the vf34 on nasioc. Its such a sick turbo, capable of 340whp w/ safe tune.

Does it come with a STi tranny or RA gears?

IMO, if he is running the stock turbo, getting a FMIC is pointless.
Take that $1200 and get a VF34 package.

Lol haha. Nah I have low miles, I also have the 03 trans which is revised. Ive been running the 34 for about a year now! No problems, plus I dont beat on the car, unless its for a race. I guess you can say the ra gears are on my chrismas list!
