So I spent a better part of 7 hours today powder coating stuff for my car. I had this new fancy purple called dormant purple. Its pretty hot, I did my strut housings in it. BUT, I had this crazy idea that maybe if I used a satin clear on it instead of gloss (clear coat is required for chemical reaction... its actually silver, then purple... weird) it may look more anodized...

well... check this out

sample pieces:

Top is gloss, bottom is satin

and that resulted in:

Man am I pleased with the results - the anodized purple is VERY difficult to match. Now I have my secret recipe of how to do it with powder coat

Oh my goodness. PLEASE do your wheels that color. They look hot now but that would be so sick if you did your lip that color. Oh man.
