Upgrading Turbo

So i feel like i would get a ton of mixed responses on nasioc and i trust the people on tst more, i'm upgrading to a vf39, have the pinks, going to be ordering the fuel pump within the next week, already on the car is an sti uppipe, 3inch catless downpipe, sti topmount, and an sti catback, so my question is do you guys things its absolutely necessary to get a 3 inch catback exhaust? i want it to be efficient, but i want it to be quiet.

nope its not absolutely necessary. It wont make a noticeable difference between the stock STI catback and an aftermarket 3 inch. Getting rid of the cats will do more than enough of getting rid of restrictions.

Well, I would just keep it on there for now. Add all of your other goodies. Then later on, in a year or so if you want to upgrade a few things, add a full exhaust and some other things, get retuned and bam, all new car

Was that with a vf39 or a big turbo like a GT35r/Dom 3?

actually the last car we did it to was a stock WRX. Just had a dp and a UTEC. 24hp uncorked when the exhaust was pulled

Wow.. that is a pretty significant restriction. I didn't think that it would make that big a difference for a stage 2 car.
