Computer speaker question help

I currently have a logitech z5300 5.1 speaker unit. The only problem i have is that in order to play all five speakers i have to plug in the headphone jack and a black and orange cord. unfortunately my sound card in my laptop only has a port for the headphone jack and not the other two. Therefore, i can only get sound out of my front left and front right speakers and not the other three. So i was wondering if any of you guys knew of an adapter or anything htat would allow me to use all five speakers with my laptop and not just two. Thanks

Well the point of the other speakers is to create surround sound. It'll just be louder with an adapter, but you won't have the true surround sound effect.

yeah... pretty much pointless. It'd be like me plugging in my 5.1 tv system into a 20 year old tv

You could link up two 3.5mm to dual 3.5mm headphone adapters into the port and you'd have sound in all speakers. It won't be surround but atleast you'll have sound from them.

You can purchase external sound cards that will allow the use of 5.1 surround sound. Check on Creative Labs website for one.

i could be wrong but im pretty sure the two extra jacks you say you have plug into the speaker system itself. i had a similar setup (i think) where the headphone jack went into the headphone port and then the black wire went to the sub and the orange pluged into the front speakers....
