The photo doesn't pop to me, to be honest. Cool subject but its just not reaching out and grabbing me.
I think an update on your signature would help the look of your photos as well.

yea, for some reason when I uploaded it, it lost it's saturation and vibrance. I'm going to push them beyond what I normally would and upload it again to see what it does.

I think if you shot that mid summer or later this spring, it would look much better. Since everything is still dead nature wise, its makes it look pretty much like a vast open field. I love how the water looks though. Ive always wanted to shoot something like that.

Shooting raw? Under the PS3 raw jobbie, hit "auto" under exposure and saturation etc. I am constantly impressed by what the auto function does. If it makes it too bright, pull it back.

But it def needs contrast and vibrance bumped.

It lost a lot of vibrance because I had an ND filter on the lens. They tend to take things and make them very drab.

An ND filter is really only supposed effectively stop your lens down.

Get a good ND filter I've got a few -3 and -1 ones, some are $20 and some are $150. The differences are remarkable.

It's a B+W ND110. It knocks exposure down by 10 stops.

i agree with what has been said. the photo has no "pop". I'm also not too crazy about the crop for some reason. The land in the bottom left of the frame isn't so great imo. or maybe its just the colors killing it for me

Niagara Falls is awesome. Nice composition, i like the land in front for some perspective.

Hope you don't mind CC...Do you have one at a shorter shutter speed? Maybe 10 seconds? I feel like you would get lots of the same effect without the lack of contrast, and stopping down to f22 probably wasn't totally necessary at that distance.

I don't mind the CC at all. I have one at 1/100th just to compare the difference in water volatility. I stopped it down as far as the lens would allow because I wanted to get the smoothest water possible. Needless to say, I've been cleaning up spots from the lens like crazy. There were something like 60 spots in the photo.

I kind of like the brightened blues, and you can make out the sun rays in the background which is pretty cool.
