Steve O's dream ride. My 98 Supra. Video added last page

I am going to try this one last time lol. The last two times I posted my pics and stuff, everything got deleted, but the site seems to be better now. So here goes…..

A supra has been my dream car, since I don’t know, I have no idea. I can’t really point to where it all started.

We all start somewhere, and my first car was a VW Jetta. If you haven’t noticed, VW’s have many “common” issues, and my car was no exception. Oh well, next was a integra, then a bunch of other cars, including 8 mk2 MR2’s, 3 MX6’s, two being the older turbo cars, 2 older supra’s, the first being a 89 supra turbo which I got for free from North Penn Tech (long story). At any rate that car had the factory optional Blown head gasket, which was rather popular sadly with these cars. I had that car, maybe 5 years ago? I don’t know exactly, but it was before all 8 of my MR2’s in any case. My last supra was a 88 supra with a 1jz twin turbo swap. Out of all of the cars until now, and possibly my black 93 NA MR2, this car was my favorite.

Sadly, well maybe not, I sold that car, to start to look for a MKIV TT. Anyone that has been following these cars for years, know that after the first Fast and Furious movie, the price of these cars climbed into the stratosphere. In fact KBB actually revised the retail values of these cars a few years ago.

When I started looking about two months ago, I had two options, both on the opposite ends of the spectrum from each other. My first option was to just pay cash for a supra. I would have probably been a NA, which would have been fine, I would have either turboed the engine, or did a JDM swap. I sadly, had figured this to be the case until one Saturday in late January I was looking online, and I saw a 98 supra TT for sale with 32,000 miles on it for 27000. I was so amazed at the price, that I called the guy right away, Long story short; the car was in a accident at some point, and a bunch of other fellow supra owners told me to stay away from it.

I went to my credit union anyway and said that I would like to apply for a loan. They told me that they don’t usually do cars over ten years old, but that with decent credit, I could get an exception. So I filled out the APP, and sat there, and the response was….. “well I did not deny you which is a good thing, it has to go to a loan officer”
I did not know how to feel actually. So on Monday the lady at the credit union called, and said that the paperwork was getting finalized, I was like wow, you have no idea, but I decided to tell her that I found out that the car had a salvage title. She informed me that they don’t do salvage titles, and asked if I had another car in mind. I said yes, because I had found a 98 supra for 30 grand in Chicago. It wasn’t black, but whatever, it was all stock, which is where I wanted to start anyway. So I got a bill of sale sent over, had to wait almost two nut wrenching days for the response.

On Wednesday, the bank called, and said I was approved, and to come sign the paperwork, and get the check. I booked my flight instantly for Chicago, picked up the check, flew out, and drove the car back. The rest is history,
Well, not really. I can say the first time I saw the car, I almost cried lol, it came through the parking lot, and was hidden by a few cars, but I spotted the wing, and I knew it was mine at the moment. I am a car guy, and my supra is my nirvana.

My first supra:

My first MR2:

I later threw supra wheels on it; I guess you can say I was doomed from the start:

One of my Mazda MX6 turbo’s:

At some point I attended a car meet in KOP, I drove my MR2. I met a guy with a supra, and I told him, if you I give you gas money will you take me for a ride? He said forget the gas money. His car had about 550whp at that point. Let me just say wowww.

So this became the first MKIV supra that I would ever get a ride in:

Going through my photobucket, I can say that after that event, it began to get filled with supra pictures. So I am sure that my friends have been hearing talk about “supra’s” for a long time.
My NA MR2 in October 2006. I was headed to the tail of the dragon with a bunch of MR2 owners from Georgia.

I sold that mr2 in a day when I was in Atlanta for 5000 grand because the MR2.com owner told me he had a turbo MR2 that ran great, it just needed “paint”. I figured how bad could it be? Well here it is, I purchased it sight unseen.

My supra + new lexus sc400 beater pics/video

I ran a 13.5 in that car, with just a intake and exhaust, I then sold that biatch:

I went through a few more cars, about 4 of them being mr2’s, then I picked up my second supra last spring. A TT 1jz supra. I sold it a few months ago, but I really miss this car. Some of you may recognize it:

took a shot at work:

Second to the last day of owning this car I think, sorry about the water spot

At last, well hopefully. Getting a ride in a 550hp supra started my supra dream, but a few weeks ago a guy offered me a ride in his 09 Nissan GTR. So once that happens, I may have a big problem. I would like to think Dan Pancoast, and Justin M, and Josh for some of these pics:
98 supra TT

So far I have added an Apexi Intake, a Tanabe downpipe, an Apexi N1 exhaust which is getting fitted at this moment, Bilstein springs, rare Tanabe springs both of which are to be installed ASAP, possibly today. I have a greddy boost guage which is going in the clock location, and a boost controller which will be installed very soon. I am aiming for 430whp or so with these mods, and high 11 timeslip at the supra meet in Englishtown on April 25th. I have approximately 800 dollars in performance mods, and I should have added 130whp. That's hard to beat.

That’s all for now

I swear I saw you sitting in the Borders parking lot in this car on Valentine's day. I was going through the parking lot and over my blarring music screamed "Supra!" and my girlfriend was like "WTF is a Supra?". I almost kicked her out of the car. Car looks super clean and I'm mad jealous.

The red supra that took for a ride is on here but i forget his username.
Congrats on the purchase of your dream car. It's an amazing feeling finally getting what you want after working hard for it, but like you mentioned with your encounter of the new GTR it will never end. You will always find something else that you will want. Good luck with the car i can't wait to see what else you have in store for it.

Yeah I saw him make a comment on supraforums about being on here. I haven't seen him since he gave me a ride almost four years ago or so, that started all of this supra stuff lol.

Lookin good Steve!

Cool to know that after knowing you for so long we both have our dream cars haha. Justin and I were just talking about the rolling shot of my car where you were behind me. It's my favorite shot. Unfortunatly I can't post it from my phone haha.

Can't wait to hear that exhaust and see the drop with those Tanabe springs. We will cruise again soon. Congrats again man. Well deserved.

That sounds good. Sadly I am back to the stock chrome wheels, because the wheels that were on there stuck out to far in the front, and they interfered with my goals to have it slammed. I will be picking up some nice 17's at some point however.

I thought Jasper Simons lived in the Europe. Where are your PA inspection stickers?

That country has weird power lines. I used to be an electrician.

See the pic below? Look at the house windows and the cobble stone ground, I am willing to bet these were taken at the same place.

It doesn't take much to know that the 911 is in Europe.
