I'm looking to re-do my exhaust for my ride very soon. Does anyone know if a side exit exhaust is illegal in NJ? Right now, I'm running a 3" crush bend full exhaust, no cat. I'll be putting back the stock cat and running the longest 3" resonator that will fit under my car to quiet things up. This will all be Mandrel bend, not crushed.

If anyone knows the legality of side exit exhaust, please chime in or know anyone that's running one and passed NJ inspection. Any info on this topic is gladly appreciated. Thanxs.

I am pretty sure it has to exit the rear. Also you need a cat. Why not just hook up some stock exhaust, pass, then change it. If that doesn't help, i can tell you were i got mine done. It cost 90 bucks but you will pass no matter what.
