Car Overheating

Well my car has been over heating for the past week or so. The needle went as far as 3/4 of the way. Once I turn it off and turn it back on, the idle jumps from 200 to around 400 rmps and sometimes even shuts off. Any idea of what the problem might be?

im with malloy, try the iacv and check for vacuum leaks. for overheating make sure the fan is turning on, there are no obstructions infront of the rad, and then check the thermostat if you have to.

First thing to do is make sure the coolant level full. Make sure the radiator is full and the over flow tank is at proper level. Allow the car to warm up and open the bleed screw to allow any air to come out. If you do not have any air, see if the upper radiator hose gets hot. If it doesn't, your thermostat may be stuck closed, which would explain the overheating.

Well I replaced the thermostat like about a month ago. And the idle is real rough when its overheated. The fan does turn on.

Yeah some of those throttle bodies have coolant that flow through them so if you got air in the system then it's a problem
