VW recommends 5w40 but no auto parts stores around here have it. Any ideas?

I bit the bullet and went to the dealership. $7/quart not too bad.

its funny you mentioned that, I was just looking too, appearantly 5-40 is a good oil to run in turbo cars.

Yeah the dude that worked there said he gets his at Autozone, but he lives in Norristown I think. No Autozones/NAPA/Advance had it around me.

i get my schit from pep boys in lansdale, and they getmobile 0w-40 (i think) which if you look at the bottle, it says on it, that it's specified for european cars. Full Syn, cost about $7/bottle...

You can get the oil anywhere!!!! it's nothing special!!! I just go to the dealer cause it's around the corner from my house and I get the hook up!!!

We offer Amsoil and ELF. We carry ELF Excellcium NT 5w40 which is perfect for the VW/Audi guys...

We have it posted up in the Vendor area...

i used to run 0W-40 in my 6.0 in the winter...i'll probably run 5w during the summer and 0w during the winter

Give us a ring, we stock all the 501/502/505, etc. approved oil.
