I would of ran him for the hell of it. Just to see what he had.

The later SHO had a V8. The earlier ones had a 220hp V6 manufactured by Yamaha for Ford.

The manuals are 3.0 liters, and in 1993 when Ford came out with the automatic SHO, they bored the engine out to 3.2 liters. Horsepower remained the same, 220, for the 3.0 liter/manual and the 3.2 liter/automatic. The only difference is the automatics have a little bit more torque.

Gen I: 89-92 3.0L V6
Gen II: 93-95 3.0L/3.2L V6
Gen III: 96-99 3.4L auto V8

most gen 1/2 SHO's are usually supercharged as opposed to turbocharged...they can be built, but they're expensive to mod

It's a very consistent motor-can go up to 350K miles with no problems.

I personally thing it's a work of art for it's time:

(It's just that everything around it is a Ford).
