My notchback would be a perfect candidate for drifting as it has the power/handling needed to overcome most problems. Look into a better rear.

its not the best car to drift in. i had 3..my latest was a supercharged notch. the steering radious isnt really the best like a 240sx. but..im sure there is aftermarket parts to make turning radious alot better then it is.. the stock rear is good for 400-450 hp. t5 trannys are weak so be carefull. but if u plan on drifting it leave the stock gears in it so u dont have to shift em as quick like if u had 4:10's in em. but, good luck with it.

I don't see anything wrong with a short geared drift 5.0, You'll be WAY better off with gears as it will try to get them loose easier, and you can drift in mostly 2nd gear with more speed at the tires and higher tq multiple. Although I don't exactly think 4:10s would be best suited, a 3:55 or 3:73 would do wonders over the 2:73s you find in most. Your clutch will thank you later for it. I would also recommend ditching the trac-loc and going with some sort of locker or center section as you will be killing your clutch packs in no time if you do this alot.
Also, subframes, subframes, subframes!!!

Subframe connectors, upper and lower solid control arms, 31 spline axles and a spool. Cheap and bullet proof way out. 3.55 gears would be a nice happy medium with the gears.

I have a full locker setup on my current notch, and anything over 10psi it is sideways (15psi on street trim, 20psi on the track)
