Well as my impreza is getting it's final touches figured I'd pick up a new project. I've been messing with these first generations legacy's for awhile now, I did my first swap on one of these. Now a good year later I'm doing it again.

What I have is a 1991 Legacy 2.2 FWD 5 m/t. What I also have in the backyard is a 1993 Legacy Turbo wagon (Ej22T/4EAT) with a rusted shell.

Go figure i'm going to swap the drivetrain from the Turbo wagon into this 91 shell. The wagons trans does have a problem with reverse but it goes forward fine, I'm hoping maybe a good flush will help. Car will be staying relatively stock once the swap is finished.

Yesterday I started to tear into the 91, only worked on it for about an hour. Took off the fenders, headlights and grill. Pulled most of the harness out of the engine bay, next have to pull out the interior and get the entire harness out. Hopefully this weekend if weather permits i'll take out the entire drivetrain. I'll just post a future mods list for it right now.

-KYB struts/Eibach pro-kit springs
-16X7 RS 6 spokes
-91 Legacy turbo hood/grill/bumper
-Legacy Turbo rear spoiler

So last weekend I messed with it some more. Pulled the motor/entire dash/ and all of the wiring is now out of the car. Next I have to drop the trans/crossmember and the rear subframe and gas tank. Playing with my GC for this weekend hopefully next weekend i'll get to play with this again.

So i've been busy with the impreza again....haven't played with this for awhile until today. Since my last post, I've purchased a 93 Legacy Turbo transmission that's in supposed to be good working order. Finally finished stripping out the entire 91 shell. Just pulled the gas tank about an hour ago. Next thing is to strip the wagon down. Probably going to redo some gaskets, timing belt and paint up a few things on the EJ22T before it gets installed. Anyway here's a few pics from todays progress. Wagon teardown begins tomorrow!
