Right Turn On Red: the final verdict?

so you want to make that right on red. the traffic light has the pesky "right turn signal" section which is lit red. there is NO "no turn on red sign" though. can you / do you still go after stopping or does the presence of that specific traffic light part make it equivalent to running a red light?

Good question... I dont normally 'respond' to these but I want to add a 'part 2' to this question...

If you're making a left turn at an intersection with a normal green light, you don't have the right of way so you have to wait until its clear.
If the intersection has a light with a green left turn arrow, then you do have the right of way and can go safely. Often intersections with the green left turn arrow turn that off and just go to all normal green lights, but some have a red left turn arrow that comes up instead. This is frustrating, because it means you cannot turn no matter what, right? Just want to be sure because its annoying to sit at an empty intersection at 2am with a green normal light but a red left turn arrow and just wait to turn, even though the path is clear.

§3112 (3) Steady Red Indication (ii) Unless signing is in place prohibiting a turn, vehicular traffic facing a steady red signal may enter the intersection to turn right, or turn left from a one way highway onto a one way highway after stopping as required.

The "Right Turn Signal" sign just indicates your course of action before entering the intersection, if it is green you can enter the intersection but if it is red you have to stop first and make sure it is safe to enter the flow of traffic.

Yes for a steady red signal on a left turn you must stop unless going from a one way to another one way, even if the other lanes are steady green. I hate those things to ill be sitting there at 3 in the morning like wow come on, I just want to flip on my opticon like come on lets get this show on the road.
