photo/videoshoot ?s

well, i'm going to be photographing and videotaping some lesbian porno scenes by this late afternoon. I do not have very much experience with more than a point and shoot camera and was wondering what settings I should be working with. I'm using a Canon EOS digital Rebel XTI with a Canon Ultrasonic EFS 17-85 mm lens. I've acquired multiple lights to provide all around lighting and am working with three video cams (two on tripods, third hand held for that POV aspect). the third is a Panasonic SDR-S7, if there is an optimal setting I'd love to know it.
Thanks for any help

well I'm working as manager/agent for the girl starring in the "features" so even I am caught off guard. If I could I'd have a legitimate photog handle it but part of my agreement is I'd handle this first part. I have already handled the first part of the contract and have sold to two different "porno" sites where I will be making commission on every click sold. Just figure the better quality the more money I have a chance at making.

Is this a 3am and I'm drunk or my friends are on my computer kind of thread? I'll move it to the right section and we'll see how things unfold...

...and I'll star in it, but andrew better bring the wide angle...

It actually isn't, its a "been working on this for five weeks now" type of thread. It's only tonight that I picked up camera and appropriate video camera. If I had more time I would truly do the research to figure out what settings to use. My problem is that for whatever settings I pick I then have to make sure they will work for my "situation". I admit I know very little"almost nothing" about photography. I truly want to do the best I can, even if it requires crediting others for my "benefit"

Otherwise, Bryan, I respect you (and love the work you do) and wouldn't post up any drunk threads. Only on my local Redline forums lol, if i was drunk. However tonight I am sober. I am only looking to make editing easier for myself.

Ha well I appreciate that, its all good either way though.
The truth is, if you don't have experience then it will be tough to get technically solid photos. We can try to help a bit though...
First off, what kind of lights do you have? That'll be a start...

lol, it's unfortunate but i'm using a handful of 40, 50, and 60 watt bulbs (don't know if that helps). I was going to test them in the morning, if they do not help with lighting all around i was going to grab a couple of sets of shop lights that I have for my Porsche work. I'm hoping for the best but I accept that I do not have the experience necessary for a 100% shoot. No matter how poor this video turns out it will sell enough to make me some money and to warrant many more productions. Luckily, my lack of photography skills are complimented by my business and law skills. If the next set lets me choose my own photographers I will surely choose tst members (due to the AWESOME) photos i've seen in the photography section. You all seem to be the best imagers I have seen local. Still, for now thanks for any help you can provide with my limited talent production.

now that i know your really doing this...

easiest way to get a lot of light is try to use some flood lights. its a quick easy way to get a lot of light. as for camera settings, try P (program).

please make sure the "models" sign a release form.

Yeah I'd second the flood lights... they throw a lot of light but the only drawback is they get very hot. Try raising at least one all the way up and pointing it at the ceiling to bounce and fill the room more evently with light... maybe even do that with all or most of them. Just aim for very full even lighting, especially when your subjects are moving. You really cant have too much light, but often people don't have enough.
I'd also say just shoot in program mode with auto white balance. If you're new to this stuff you'll have too much else to worry about so just keep the camera setup simple.

thanks for the advice, this is the type of info that I can actually use and work with. If everything works out I'll post a link to the work I did (if thats allowed).

^ of course its freakin allowed. Its art... right? Anyways yeah flood lights will work, and you can also maybe use some flashes for the actual photo work... anyways, this has to be one of the best threads on TST.

Dont know video but I'd say auto mode if you dont know otherwise.
Also if you're using flood lights, dont use a camera flash... its 2 different colors of light and it'll look bad. Stick with one color of light (flash and daylight are the same, then there's tungsten bulbs or flourescent light... dont mix)

well never figured out the camera so only did video. Is there a way to take screen shots to use as pics without having to print screen them?
