R-Strap!

Kicks ass! Got one a few weeks ago, and finally got it on my camera last weekend while I was shooting a cat show. Just a nice way to carry the camera that is comfortable! The video convinced me to buy one, and I was very pleased that it is indeed that awesome of a product.

The only change I made is I use a real tripod mount on the strap instead of the thing that comes with it.

http://blackrapid.com/ just because I can't really describe how it works.

Anybody else have one?

on-camera hand strap might suffice for a description. i've contemplated buying one for quite some time now.

I saw that on my Nikon forum early last year and really wanted one.. but at the same time, I'm okay with the neck strap and then twisting it... I dunno, I have spent too much money on camera equipment the last few months.. so I am TRYING to hold back.. of course, I just bought another vehicle... so that doesn't help.

I was thinking about a strap like this as well, Washington convinced me I will have one soon. My neck is so sore, and I got tired of wrapping the freakin thing around my hand over and over. I was going to actually ask you and Gurov if you knew of any good ones.

I lied, I thought it was a hand strap, I like this one a lot though... thats really nifty looking. How much are they? I can't find them on Adorama's site even though Adorama seems to be a retailer of them.

Edit:
I found it said 16.00 bucks. Thats not bad, I might buy the fastener and make a hand strap for myself.

Woah I lied edit again! 48.00 bucks. Shoot I'll make my hand strap.

Yeah, $48 is the price, we got ours directly from the company. The padding is nice, definitely good for when you gotta carry around the camera, my shoulder wasn't sore after 3-4 hours so I am happy. Most definitely NOT a hand strap though, mostly a camera carrying device (anti theft, too, because it's across your body). Fine by me, I like having my hands free (let's me cuddle the kittens at cat shows and still have the camera in easy, accessible reach)

I'm sure someone could make a homemade version, I am just lazy and not that crafty. I know someone that made one for his M16 rifle!

its a great idea but $48 is a complete rip for something like this.

I made one by keeping my tripod mount on and clipping a gym bag strap to the D ring on the bottom. It's the same exact thing minus the fancy label

I use the normal Nikon strap all the time.. It's not a huge deal. I have it over my body when I am hiking/climbing, and then hanging from my neck when I am sorta using it.

i have the canon hand strap, I fricking love the thing and it's way more secure than i had initially thought. I can let go of the camera and the strap holds it just fine.
other than that i usually always have the OE strap across my body and not just around my neck.

i had the canon hand strap when i had the 1d and always just let it hang since it felt really comfortable and cuz i hate having a strap on my shoulder to carry it. that r strap may be useful i guess if ur in a hurry to take a snap or something quick
