Obama Inauguration

So I just got back from DC at 1AM. I am now finishing up my edits and sending the rest into the paper. I shot all these with the 24-70 f/2.8 and did not bring my 70-200 because I was told by the secret service to limit what I brought. Come to find they let everything in as long as it didn't go boom.

Anyways, the cold weather kinda killed any crazy emotions that people were willing to let loose. I was able to get some reaction shots, but my unlucky self picked the "best" spot according to all the Secret Service and other guards, but ended up having the worst spot because Biden and Obama both avoided it. Obama got back in the car, and Biden walked away from me. But anyways heres what I kinda got.

I'll re edit some of these later, but here are de pictores.

We waited for 3 hours to be able to run to a checkpoint for the parade route. This guy was mad and let the cops know...

But this is why he stopped... he woulda been put down quickly...

There ya go. And it was cold, I have been awake for 32 or so hours now and am working on a 20 minute nap and two 5 hour energy drinks. The pictures are nothing special due to the fact my supposed amazing location was really not that amazing. Also the crowds were very subdued from the cold, and Obama almost snuck by when he got back into "The Beast" so people didn't even cheer that much.

The Biden picture is my favorite, cause I like that dude.

thanks for the comments, Heidi I IMed you, I got an earlier train, I begged my way onto a 10 o clock train as opposed to a 4AM train. Thank god cause I was dead by 4AM. I am hoping the Biden one gets printed. I have some others to go through and I'll see which ones I like. It was definitely the worst photo conditions I've ever worked with. Wrong equipment, and cops everywhere along the side of the road, you seriously had a 10 foot gap between each cop to squeeze a picture out. The blown out sky's don't help either.

The air/sky was just terrible, very hazy (that I could tell from the TV) so you're not entirely blamed
