Lightbulb The Difference...

So I shot with my ex g/f who has been modeling for a few years now. I sent her the photos after I was finished so she could pick the ones she wanted me to edit. She ends up screen saving some (I had right click protection on) and uploaded them to her MySpace. I then sent her some of the edited ones... The difference is obvious.. and it bugs me when this happens. I think it makes me look like a bad photog when you have ****, unedited photos credited to you....

I figured I'd post this as a warning to be careful with what you send to the models. This has happened to me before a couple times and bugs me out every time. One time the model didn't even credit me... From here on out, I am sending a contact sheet, with a watermark & numbers. They can pick the photos they want edited from there. I think that's a better process. Anyone else have issues like this?

Oh, here are the final results... D2x, 50mm 1.8, ISO 200, f18, 1/80th, AlienBee's B1600 on full from what I recall. lol.. this was a month ago almost.

Poses seem ok, I actually like some of the poses a lot, maybe not cut her off so much when you photograph her again. Seems like she has a nice body... show it off. My one criticism is the shadow, but thats obviously going to happen when you use one light. Its cool that you and your ex still stay in touch, and she lets you photograph her nonetheless.

i think poses 2 and 3 would do more justice if it was a full body shot. or at least a tighter crop on 2 so you cant see her hands. and if you show the model the shots before the final edit, you should always put some kind of watermark over the image just so they dont try to use them. other than that they came out nice.

Thanks guys. It's kinda hard as I was shooting this in my bedroom .. wall to wall. I hate the look of wide angle lenses most the time with models. She had a decent body when I shot her last spring:

(Crappy camera setup, lens, and natural light):

She gained about 10-20 lbs since then, though. With what she was wearing I didn't want to shoot any lower (not to sound like an ass heh). I agree with the shadow thing too. I was going to PP it out then decided not to. I was using a reflector on the camera's left side which really helped out, but didn't completely alleviate the shadow. Once I get a B800 or another B1600 I'll be set ;-)

Most my ex's who model let me shoot them still, as long as their current b/f isn't a controlling ASS.

In number one, her neck looks weird..

In two, it reminds me of the Zoolander lip pucker thing

Three is my favorite though I agree her eyes would've been better if they weren't aimed up that high

I do like a lot though

i agree 3 is the best. i just find that there is some slight blowout on her forehead and nose, which looks a bit off for me. Doesn't blend with her skin and I don't think should be as white as the wall?
I think a tighter crop overall would have made them a bit more interesting.

I like #3 as well, a nice facial expression. And I must admit, I like her sweater, lol.

In the few models shoots I've done, I've had time at the end to review all the pictures taken with the model, and she picked out which ones. Then I edited and sent her a disk. Therefore no unedited pictures got out anywhere. I also do two edits, the full size files, and a "internet" sized one, and the "internet" sized one gets my watermark, since I know that's what they'll use on myspace and what not. When I modeled, some photographers did the same thing, and it seemed to work out well.
