Let's talk about ****ty car luck.

Alright so sometimes it feels like it's just me sometimes but there has to be some people on here with some ****ty luck stories involving your cars.

My most recent was yesterday. As most of you know it snowed/rained/froze in the Philly burbs. Well Saturday I stayed in for the most part. Didn't drive anywhere until late when the roads were clear and dry.

Well yesterday I had work. So I woke up normal time looked outside an my road was just wet. No ice, sun was peeking out, good to go. So I jump in the duece and drive to work. I live 4 miles from my work so it's not that far. As I get to the road my work is on, again, roads are just wet EVERYWHERE else...Well as I turn onto the road my car just keeps on goin lol. I tried to power out/tap the brakes to change direction but it didn't work. Blamo... Smack the curb, front tire first than back tire. Maybe like 25mph.

Get to my work parking lot that was almost dry (lol)...survey the damage. Looks like I got some bent ****. Go talk to my boss, tell him the situation, he let's me go home. Go home replace the parts (had them in my basement from various parts cars), put the car together, fine. It was kinda early so I went I work for a couple hours. Get out and I'm hungry, so I get in my car to go grab lunch and on the way, a car pulls put in front of me. Sweet. Swerve into the shoulder, hit ice, spin around, hit the same side of the car against the curb. Harder this time. Dude doesn't stop.

Get out, nothing looks out of place so I drive home. On the way suspension feels weird...get home pull my wheels off, and my strut insert had popped it's securing nut out of the housing. So I get my buddy Mark to come over, and it's dark by now and cold. We take the strut out, make it fit, put the car back together, home made alignment, and we're good.

At this point it's 9pm. We were supposed to go watch movies with Marks gf and this girl I just met at 8. So we call and they say no worries. Get in our cars and my grind is hungry. So we go to Souderton Wawa for food. As we're leaving a pickup truck is following me REALLY close. I just keep it cool. Get to a red light, wait, turns green. Start off normal. I hear tires squeel followed by headlights disapearing and BAM. Slams into my car. I stop and dude takes off. Follow him, get his plate number and he loses me.

Go back to the Wawa (we went less than a half mile) I shut my car off and the key breaks. Can't start my car, window is down, wheel is locked. Call the police and they come out. Give the info. Turns out it's someone I know who later denies hitting me. So then I called AAA, had my car towed to my friends shop, and here I am. Back and neck hurt, tired, don't wanna be at work, and bummed out a little.

Rear bumper is rolled/rippled real bad. My tail light center panel is pushed in (trunk key cylinder also) so I can't open my trunk. Rims are ****ed up, suspension is still off. And I didn't get home till 4am. Got I see the girl, which was probably the only thing that saved me.

So who else has ****ty stories like me? lol. Yeah it's my fault for driving a 2600lb rwd car in the winter. Buts it's all I can do right now.

Big thanks to mark who helped me fix my car both times and who let me car at his shop to work on it later...not mention on a sunday night, his only day off...justin, you the man dude, thanks for calming me down.

To the kid that hit me. Well. Nevermind... Not the place.

damn... i've never had a bad string of luck in such a short amount of time....

i nearly hit a curb sunday at 4am... same deal as you, hit ice... no stopping... slid right through the intersection i was going to turn.

the really funny part... i had just passed a salt truck that wasn't going the speed limit and was actively salting the roads... passed him, got into the turning lane 1/2 mile up the road... eased onto the brakes...

one of two things would have happened if i hadn't passed him though, i'd have slid into him, as he made that turn... or we both would have made the turn.

but afterwards i did an awesome 180 in the parking lot of my complex... and seriously contemplated doing more

Well my immediate luck doesn't seem as bad as you, but I've seen a curb this week, distributor started squealing, and the car doesn't want to start again.

Well, i have gotten stuck behind salt trucks and that **** blows. I'm driving along, truck in front...no salt coming out. Cars on both sides of my and all the sudden he starts salting. ****'s ricocheting off my car like crazy. Get home and my front bumper and side mirrors are chipped to ****.

Well, our text session last night reminded you that I still love you and that is all really unfortunate. Invest in an inflatable plastic bubble and roll around in that for a few days, at the very least it'll be fun.

damn dude that sucks!!! I don't think i have ever had that much bad luck in one day... actually now that i think about it i had 2 flats in one day in my eclipse and then another flat the next day. First flat was a screw in the tire, second one was one of those obscene sewer drains sticking up out of the road that i couldn't avoid because of traffic and the third was a gaping whole in the side of the tire wall that i am not sure of how it happened. i'm just lucky that i had a couple sets of wheels and tires for the car.
Good luck with everything.

Yeah I've had plenty of flats in this car. All on brand new tires too, it's a bitch lol.

Plastic bubble sounds good. Either that or I think the car is cursed or has a bad luck hex. Maybe I should just sell the thing and get another one and start so fresh, so clean... lol

Damn Dan why didn't you give me a call? I probably could have helped ya out bud lol. Sorry to hear about the deuce though, but it is what it is. I say we pull all of your **** out of that car and you find another shell and we swap it all over and get rid of the one you have now. You have the worst luck in it.

My Camaro just kept breaking, so I sold it.

That sucks. Biggest streak of bad luck I can think of having was getting 1 flat a day for 3 straight days.

First one was just at home. I came out and it was flat went to put in the spare, it was flat too. Sometime after 1am coming back home the day after I got another flat courtesy of a tree branch in the middle of an unlit back-road about 2 miles from home. Finally, the third one happened the next day in the morning on my way to work doing 65mph on I-76 which had been under construction, seems like someone forgot a 5" Nail in the middle of the highway. Ended up just putting 4 new tires.

has I know right? I probably wont even have to bash in the trunk now to make the tails fit haha. Yeah I have my truck but I have worse luck in that and it's a death trap.

Yeah I have the possibility to buy another running 91 but I need $2k. Then I would switch all the stock stuff to my shell and put my stuff on the new one. But I just don't have the cash.
