need fellow TST'ers opinons on trading civic!

wasnt sure where else to put this, off topic says no car chat what-so-ever, so i figured id put it in here...ok now on to the question..

i was at a buddies house recently, and we were bull****ting about cars and what not, and i offered him my civic for his cbr600 and his jeep cherokee...he told me he would trade, since he likes my car.. so heres the specs on the cars..

1996 Jeep Cherokee: 4.0 I6 auto, new tires, good inspection, Blue, grey interior, 4wd obviously, 180k *but we all know how long 4.0's last*, needs an upper rad hose, and an exhaust, he is running open cat right now and its way to loud.. basically its a diamond in the rough, i know with a little tlc and a buffing wheel i can get it looking nice.. pretty straight body and awesome interior.. plus with what i paid for my civic i know i can sell it for more then i have in the honda..

1992 Honda CBR 600 F2, Blue and black, two brothers exhaust, runs great, bought from a local dealership with 20k on it, no engine noise, good clutch and trans and current inspection.. only problem is that the bike was in a minor collision with his other friends bike and the forks arent perfect, at 60mph if you take your hands off the bars they show signs of the dreaded "tank slap" anyone with a bike knows what im talking about.. but as long as you keep your hands on the bars it tracks straight and everything is fine.. the front wheel isnt even bent. and it has new tires.

my civic is basically a 1993 DX no power stearing with some minor bolt ons and a 2000 D16y8 swap, ive been looking for a bike and a jeep for some time..just wanted to get your opinions since im on here almost every hour of every day lol..

on a side note.. i have ****ty credit, i cannot get an automobile loan and i basically need to be able to sell or trade any vehicle i have to upgrade, im worried about the jeep becoming something im "stuck" in.. if you know what i mean.. but i know with cleaning it up i can make it look really nice..

so yea..let me know what you guys think... thanks for the input, and again yes or no im open to anything..

Go for it. You can always get the Grand Cherokee seats & interior and bits-n-pieces from a u-pull-it. The bike will save you gas money in the summer.

bikes have gone up, a F2 was my first bike, it was fun. With the right paint on it it can still look good.

Id trade my car for a bike and car, but much newer of coarse.

just because this is so single sided right now. .. .. .

180k miles is a lot of miles, i dont care what motor it is. forget the motor even, what if the trans goes?

also, insuring inspecting upkeeping and registering a civic is cheaper than the same for both a jeep and a bike.

between the bike and the jeep, you will probably be getting the same overall gas mileage as the civic.

the way I see it, a 92 600 with 20k is worth about 1500 in awesome condition. 96 cherokee with 180k is worth about the same on a good day...
so like 3 grand on a good day is what this pair is worth. whats your civic worth?

if you really go ahead on this, atleast try and get him to fix the jeeps exhaust.

Ummm that jeep will bring in 2500-3000 along all day.

And that bike is worth prob 1500 so i would say its a good deal. You can get civic bodys for less then 800 rolling, then just find another motor its still less then the jeep and bike combined.

go for it...

i see the potential to make a good bit more on those two than on your civic if you decide you don't want them. Then you'll be able to buy something even nicer in the long run.

if i'm not attached to a vehicle and someone makes an offer that sounds good i always go with gut instinct and it always seems to work out well.

Do it!!! Then you have a jeep for the winter/bad weather and the bike for the summer Plus, you'll make more money if you decide to sell the bike and the jeep than if you were just to sell the civic.
