Anyone have experience with bed-shaking alarm clocks?

I am a very heavy sleeper. I usually set both of the alarms on my night stand clock as well as 5-6 alarms on my cell phone every night to make sure I'm up just in time every day. However, I start a new job this Wednesday which is about a 45 minute commute from my house and I have to be there at 6:15 every day. If I'm late a single time in my first year at the job, I'm on grounds for termination. The hopeful solution?

Feast your eyes on this MF'er
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...cmu_pg__header

According to the reviews on Amazon, this clock takes its job pretty seriously. Hopefully it'll shake my ass into oblivion everyday at 5am. Anyone have experience with any products like this? I plan to tuck the vibrating puck under my pillow and leave the main unit under my bed so I can't hit the snooze button.

My dad rigged one up for me when i was in highschool

It was like a little electric motor with an offbalance weight on it, set to a timer.

I slept on a metal bunkbed, so when that thing went off, it basically made me jump out of bed

Honestly its a pretty disturbing way to wake up every morning, lol. But i guess it works

Atleast he never got to rigging up the hydrolic matress dumper that he talked about...

If you're sleeping through an alarm clock, its a sign that you aren't getting enough sleep. The best and most effective solution for a variety of reasons would be to change your sleep schedule and aim to get a better nights rest.

That would work if I had a 9-5, but in my line of work there is no such thing as a regular sleep schedule. 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and vice versa, a month of days, a month of nights, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 on, 2 off......etc etc. It's crazy, but we make the best of it.

Alarm clock puzzle is pretty cool. I don't have it, but when the alarm clock goes off it shoots off four puzzle pieces and for the alarm to go off you need to reassemble to puzzle.

man am I glad I get up. I put my alarm on the otherside of the room so I have to get up and turn it off. Even better still, living with Susie, I better make sure that alarm gets shut off fast. She can be mean in the morning, So can most people though.

haha. I have my alarm clock about 8 feet from the bed but my dad has come into my room in the past to make sure I was awake and watched my sleeping body get out of bed and stretch as far as possible to hit the snooze while keeping one leg under the covers.

i have a sonic boom that u posted a link of, definetly wakes me up, alarm is very obnoxious, u can set the tone too, the shaker goes nuts and its even better when it rolls off ur bed and goes between ur bed and wall because it vibrates off the wall and sounds like someone is jackhammering the side of ur house. definetly a good alarm clock.
