you need special tools for the ball joints and stuff, the ball joint tool kit i believe is about $300-$400, find a mechanic you know that has one and borrow it

i'll be replacing the ball joints with fresh ones. i picked up a nice mallet and some ratchet straps to hold the spring to the upper control arm... tomorrow, it's hammer time...

For the ball joints, use a pickle fork or a ball joint separator. As for the spindle, in the cases that I have seen it, its usually pressed into the knuckle. So to remove it, you will need a hydraulic press.

If your replacing the ball joint simple..... lots of PB blaster, thread the nut 3-5 turns and smack it. Some heat on the spindle around the ball joint stud will help too.

But I am sure the exhaust is angled for back pressure to have a faster spool-up for larger size turbochargers @ low RPM

PB blaster huh... i think i have some of that in the garage.

I managed to get the steering and UCA joints off, but the bottom one is being a bitch. the knuckle doesn't sit close enough to the BCA to use the pickle fork.
