The Motorsports HERO is the world's smallest onboard mini wireless digital video camera for motorsports use, only 4 oz. The HERO is completely self contained and it does not require any separate recording device. It's quick release design simplifies click-mounting the camera to your car, motorcycle, helmet, etc. Developed at the track, the Motorsports HERO Wide shoots TV resolution 30 fps video with sound tuned to capture the grunt, squeal and stroke of driving at the limit. It records 56 minutes of video to a 2GB SD memory card (not included). Two NiMH or Lithium AAA batteries will last for 2 hours of video recording.

The Motorsports HERO will also shoot 5 megapixel still photos and has a photo every 2 or 5 seconds mode that makes automatic picture taking simple.

This Motorsports HERO kit includes the camera, the rugged dustproof and waterproof polycarbonate housing, quick release mounts, flat surface baseplates, curved surface baseplates and the powerful triple pivot suction cup. The vast array of included mounting options let you mount it practically anywhere on your vehicle.

thinking about pickup up a wide angle version... so many vendors are carrying these now and they're all around the same price give or take a buck or two. I'm just waiting for one of those "end of year" sales or something to pull the trigger.

Yeah you will see them for pretty much the same deal everywhere. GoPro makes their dealers sign a contract to only sell at their retail and nothing below. So unfortunately these are the cheapest you will find them from an authorized dealer which also carries a warranty.
