If life had a "reset" feature, would you use it? READ FIRST POST

I had a discussion with a good friend the other day after he and his lady of 6yrs broke it off suddenly, and quite painfully for him. Anyway, he mention how he would've loved to have been able to go back and just avoid meeting her at all, so it got me thinking:

If life had a reset button, would I have used it? Immediately, my answer was "yes" but then, upon thinking about the ramifications, I decided we're better off without it. So, here's a couple of things to think of before voting:

1) You only get to "reset" once. You can choose a time, place, whatever to go back to.
2) Other people, in fact, everyone, has access to this, so your "reset" could completely come undone if someone should try to use theirs.
3) You might miss out on some real-life lessons.
4) Fate could still be in the picture, effectively having detrimental effects on your "reset."

So, that said, would you use your chance? Please discuss your views if you vote.

if you really really mess up, youd have a damn good reason to use it..... so i vote yes for seriously needful situations (more life/death than relationships and such)

Eh, I passed because who even knows if you'd know what happened? What if you went back to "before" and ended up in the same situation. Plus, I'd be majorly pissed if I went "back" and "back" happened to be undone by somebody else's "reset." This is some hefty **** here, guys.

So far, there is really nothing THAT detrimental in my life that'd i'd change, so I would vote no.

But if such a thing was real, people's greed would take over and everyone would be buying certain stocks and whatnot and everything would be ****ty.

I voted yes because time isn't a line, and life isn't a line. Life is a river and so is time. I'd love to reset because I'm weak and don't want to start over again knowing what I know.

I also vote no. I believe that everything that happens in life, happens for a reason. You're ment to live and learn from your mistakes. I don't regret anything that I've done so far in my life and I've made some ****ty desicions. Regrets are mistakes that you didn't learn from and I've definitely learned from my mistakes. Some not so good stuff has happened to me but I don't think that I, or anyone else for that matter, would be the person I am today if my life went any differently.

I voted no.

I pretty much agree with Susie. Even though I wish I had done a few things differently, I am happy with the person I am right now. I think that we learn (hopefully) from past mistakes and that changes/has an effect on who we become/are.

Awesome idea for a thread/discussion!

No way.

In hindsight everything is 20/20 so of course our first instinct is to say "Yes I'd go back" In reality I do the best I can at the time depending on where I'm at... That's enough for me... no regrets. The mistakes I have made as well as the good choices have molded me into who I am today... I would not give that up for the world. Just my $0.02

I would use it after I crashed my car. Nothing I regretted more in the last 5 years.

Yes. There are decisions you make in life, that some times you are stuck living with those decisions...and they eat at you your entire life. Resetting to before making one of those decisions, you could avoid doing such. I would reset.
