I'm not sure what girls you are looking at, but I've seen plenty of "scene" chicks at meets.

most of the VW chicks that i've seen that drive/own/"mod" their car are usually fatties

come to think of it... most of my ex's were pretty sore afterwards... those with a little extra "meat" on their bones didn't complain as much

On a side note, there was a local girl with a MKIV gti, fairly modded, and she was gorgeous. So I can't say, all VW girls are obese hippies.
