he has a lot of good points until he brings religion into it. he gives great analysis of the characters, except the main character in the bible. his analysis of that character is extremely biased. it's like listening to a 'trekkie' describe the differences between jean luc picard, batman, and superman. who do you think he's going to identify with?

You have to admit that his analysis of the two movies is pretty dead on though.

yeah he's dead on.. they're great videos until he starts talking about the religious aspect. that's all i'm saying. in my opinion, (and i was raised strict catholic btw) the Bible is nothing more than one of the greatest stories ever written. if you de-hype the Bible for a second and take away the religious aspect and look at it neutrally like i do, as if it were just another story.. even a great movie - then understanding what i mean is easier.

it appears as if this priest is comparing 3 movies or stories - the Bible to Batman to The Matrix. in that comparison, he is fanatical and so biased towards one of the stories, that he talks about one of them (the Bible and Jesus) as if the other are fake and his favortite is real. to me that appears as ridiculous as saying Batman is real and Superman, Spiderman, etc etc are all fake and are just stories.

again, it's just my opinion. i really do agree with you, the way this guy analyzed the movies does make a lot of sense. he breaks them down very well.

Yeah, I know what you're saying.
But like you said, the bible is a story, just like Batman, Superman and everything else. Thats why its fair to compare the two.

I think he is sort of using Jesus as an example of why Batman is not the perfect hero. Like he said, when batman uses violence against the joker, it does nothing to solve the true problem, and only fuels the joker (as in the prison scene). In order for batman to really win against violence, he would need to find a none violent way of dealing with it.

As for the matrix, I've read in a few other places about how that movie was very much based on religion and mythology. The three movies are about the birth, life, and death of a saviour (Neo).
