**good** body shops around exton, WC, or Downingtown?

When I say good I mean decent customer service and good quality work. I hate oversprays onto molding, reusing hardware that has been damaged, crap like that, not to mention getting lied to about rentals, scheduling and parts being 'on the way'.

I think 3D autobody does a only mediocre work and Brandywine Coachworks who I think does great work has terrible customer service and scheduling problems.

is Grand Sport Auto any good?

Grand Sport Auto has painted a couple of my cars and done a descent job. I only had one problem with them before and it was my the alignment of my driver side door but they fixed it with no questions.

FWIW: I went to cavallo years ago (right after they opened their west chester 202 location) to get a quote for my damaged 2001 gti vr6 bupmer repair. They were about 3 times higher then the next "expensive" guy and treated my like dogsh!te cause I had a economy car.

Cavallo's are a buch of pricks!! But then again they are geared towards a higher end client so when your average Joe walks up they are like WTF are you doing here. My gf's dad gets all the work done on his cars through them and they are outrageously expensive. I picked up his SL55 AMG the last time he had it in for paint work and the alignment was off on the car. When he called to have them fix it they tried to pin it on me saying it must have been something I did.

Its funny cause I have heard good and bad things about every shop around this area pretty much.

I would take my car to Brandywine Coachworks, but its my GFs car in question and she didn't like how they treated her. They told her all the parts for the repair had come in so she brought her car down and it turned out they hadn't even ordered them yet. This happened TWICE before they actually ordered the parts. She decided that she didn't want to trust them with her car after that.

i would only recommend grand sport if it's the west chester or new collegeville shop. the other 7 shops are pretty much all crap. i used to work for grand sport. it's amazing how ignorant most of the people in that company are. the only reason the WC shop is decent is because Lew Korn (regional manager - WC shop manager) is a paranoid d-bag who has to watch his own back, so he'll never let anything slip out that's not up to par. the new collegeville shop is good also simply because they're the newest and biggest shop and they still have to prove themselves in the area. also because the owner is at that shop most of the time.

i have also heard good things about brandywine coachworks "from the inside" - body shops talking about each other and whatnot. except for customer service, everyone seems to think brandywine is one of the nicest shops around.

btw, just so you know... scheduling issues and parts problems are a necessary evil. it sucks, but you're not going to find any shop that's 100% in those areas. parts especially. day after day after day inside a body shop the thing that gets bitched about the most is parts. things are rarely on time coming to the shop.
