X-mas Eve Volunteer Programs...

My g/f and I are looking to volunteer to help people, either on xmas eve, or on xmas, DIRECTLY with people to make sure they are having a happy holiday. I have signed up, called, and talked to LOTS of people, and all they want seems to be money.

If you know of any volunteer "soup lines", or anything else, please post up. Hopefully many other members are interested in this so it will benefit us all.

Thanks,
Steve

EDIT: It doesn't have to be just xmas, anything around the holidays that will help cheer people up would be great (and after the holidays, post up also for anything), and I'm also interested in the Big Brother program, , as well as volunteer labor programs.

Also, I'm already signed up and have help with volunteermatch, so any other sites that specialize in this would be great!

When are you looking to volunteer? I can see if my work needs help

edit: Just saw the days I'll ask around

Sometimes we can use help sorting gifts (this will be on 12/19) or going out with workers to give out gifts.

i volunteered multiple times at a homeless shelter in Bethlehem called Safe Harbor helping cook and stuff. most places around the hollidays do just need money because so many people go out to help these times of the year its kinda not needed. if you go ANY other time during the year, they will use you for what ever they can.

This is soo true. You may be better off waiting and going in January or any other time. Volunteering is very popular around the holidays and most places do have enough people at this time of year. They need people the other 11 months of the year.

Not saying you shouldnt still look around for a place to go now though You may want to try Wood Services in Langhorne, PA.

I did ask around at my work to see if we had anything. At this time, we dont need anyone.

Good luck in your search

I signed up for that but got too busy to go in for the enrollment meeting. Hopefully in the next few months I can contact them again to get assigned to someone. I didnt want to get assigned and then not be able to follow thru.

You guys should volunteer to raise a puppy I'm on my 14th dog
