The Microsoft Office Suite is always nice
Adobe Photoshop if you are taking a lot of pics, and like to edit things

uhh... other then that, I have nothing.

I honestly don't see a point to have autocad unless it's something you use for work/a living. I use it every day at work and i couldn't possibly imagine having a need to use it outside of my job.

check out some open source projects, that you can download... legally...

open office is a full MS office replacement (i use it at home)

there is no sense in overloading your computer w/ programs... you're just going to end up killing it. Download what you need and will use.

what do you do? get the software that you will use or need to use. depending on what you want to do with the laptop will dictate what software you will want.
i don't think autocad is something an average person needs on their PC.
