it really is tough doing a dark car at night. that being said, the car is a bit underexposed in most of those photos. the backgrounds look good though.

I disagree, i think the background is overexposed.

You're getting better though.

have you tried the AE lock? if you lock the exposure on the car and then re-frame, it should expose correctly. i've not tried it but it should help. or exposure compensation for a longer exposure. not totally sure, just throwin ideas at you

not ALL of the backgrounds are overexposed and not ALL parts of the backgrounds are overexposed.

Havent tried either...I think my metering mode was set wrong for some of the shots.

Andrew, I actually darkened some of the backgrounds in those shots a bit, but that doesnt help the subject get any more exposure on it...I'm sure I can pull off better shots without artificial lighting though, just a matter of working different modes and such.
