Screamingdsm's DSM RUNNING,Little video 4/21/09

Well ive been 8 years into this dsm world now and its been fun. When i first got the car it went 12.3s pretty good for a stock rebuilt motor on a big16g and bolt-ons. Got rod knock, then decided to build a g4cs 2.4 setup for it, which lasted me 9k and i broke the crank which i can think of multiple reasons why it broke (machine shop mainly). I had it together from sept. 05 till jan 06 and then it sat for over a year because of how frusterated i was. Finally got tired of seeing it sit. I got all motivated and finally pulled the motor and apart, got the parts to the machine shop and got it back together.

I got really lucky on the internals (wiesco 9:0.1s and eagle rods). since i wasnt racing the car when it broke. I got a fresh crank and had it balanced blue printed, and micro polished with the rotating assembly since i dont think it was done the first time. I also had alot of coolant push issues so i went with a good ol felpro composite head gasket and my arp studs. I ported my head when the motor went together the first time, so i basically had that cleaned up with the block and put back together.

Im currently running Fp2 cams (currently for sale for fp3s) and manley valvetrain. Was running a vpc/afc2/dsmchip, but in the past couple of months switched to AEM EMS, ill never look back . Im running 880cc. Turbos a to4e 60-1 with a t4 p trim hot side rebuilt by forcedperformance, bolted to a fully ported by me 2g manifold with a tial 38 hanging off it.

Trans is built by dogboxracing.com. I put a Powertrain technoligy twin disk in and blew the transfer case apart. Damn thing revs like a bike since the whole clutch setup flywheel and all weighs only 16LBS!! I love this clutch, and have since learned to use it to its full potential.

Jmf intake manifold for now.
I also have a very custom tubular K member made by a good friend of mine that does very sick fabrication.
You can check out his other stuff at www.haggardfab.com

I tuned the car myself, via wideband and datalogger. Tuned the car on c16 to 31psi 0 counts of knock to 8300k, and on pump easily ran 26psi no meth, or alcohol injection. Its amazing what a composite gasket will do with a tuned car, I get 0 coolant push..for now lol.

Its winter time now so its time to go crazy and Rick Ross tells me to "PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT"

Here some pics, and im going to take some more undated pics of the fluidamper i put on the car acouple months ago, the twin disk installed and what not. Thanks for looking.

This was right before the crank broke this pic

In the car and some cleaning done. Had to wear here back in.

New tubular K-member Fresh

Front bar

K-member in

Cleaned some more stuff up, ran harness under the intake manifold. Wired on 2g injector clips (so much easier to take on and off. Relocated the coil pack

Twin disk installed.

Week later, twin disk carnage

First Gear...well whats left.

This is whats waiting now. GT4294 1.01 a/r, On Green Performance equal lenth divided t4 CAST manifold. Magnus DOG engagement trans.

Damn.

I got nothing past that, lol.

If you don't mind me asking, what machine shops are/were you using? I'm looking for some dudes that know what they're doing when I build my 2.3l. Also, real quick, where'd you manage to pick up the GC4S? Thanks, and great work, man!

They come out of 87-90 hyundai sonatas 85-87 galants. I got lucky on the first g4cs first junkyard i went to there was a sonata in there, after i broke the crank picked up another one from some wholesale engine place a friend told me about. I have a spare g4cs block for something ill be building soon.

No-clutch we made the k-member, and were going to make some but alot of people were nay saying about it and there was mixed reviews. My buddy at www.haggardfab.com decided not to follow through and we threw out the jig. Over the winter i might pull it out and see if i can work something to get them made.

Im sure it will blow up thats the point and its apart of the game. Its just gonna get better. Im sure it will hold up for awhile, and my felpro composites gonna have its work cut out for it. Gonna invest in another head with some L19s and go from there. I have a jays racing altenator relocation kit, and its going to be a 4" v-band exhaust all the way out the back. Im sure with the 2.4, the 9:0.1 or so compression i have, and some master spool up tuning by me via aem its gonna be a nasty little rid on all seasons lol

have u read about that "new" thing that helps spool divided housing turbos by like 600-1000rpms faster?

some people are using them on single turbo gt42 3000GTs and dropping the spool by 900RPMS!

Thats why my manifold is divided, as the turbo. Should spool nice with the setup, and be some stupid top end power

this is what im talking about ricer ;)

http://www.spracingonline.com/store/...ool_Valve/3643

some guy on the 3000GT message boards integrates that whole thing into the turbo so you dont have to have a seperate plate. he has noticed major torque curves under the curve as well.

yeah i saw guys talking about that too on one of the forums http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turb...iscussion.html. Making it close off one of the ports to direct flow down one side. Looks interesting, but 650 dollars i got my own aid for that, which im sure we know what that is. Nothing a 50 shot wouldnt take care of.

For drag racing applications the divided flange with a twin wastegate setup is not really the way to go.Those setups are for the street when running low boost.

yeah well the people running below 25psi on the street on a 66mm up compressor wheel a little girls. I dont think my car will ever see below that ever now. Plus its all in what one wastegate can handle at low boost conditions. The manifold i have has one outlet conected to both of the end of the divided outs. Ill have one Tial 38mm for now, but will be stepping up to a Tial v-band 44mm.

Alex oh you know i ride dirty! FROM THE STREETS

Its all stock my friend, big16g with a afc

stock 4 bolt for now. Some of the key things in the Push It To The Limit are Stock axles, Felpro Composite head gasket with no o-ring etc. Might as well find the limits of things while there on. But if they make it ill be upgrading.

I got another head i have to make some time and port, then have o-ringed, axles havent been a thought yet, but im picking up a driveshaft shop driveshaft. Im running a ebay core with custom end-tanks so ill be logging intake air temps on aem. On the setup on the car My temps on a full pass 24 25psi even on 28 29 psi went from 24-50 on a full pass, so we shall see if it keeps up which i think it will.
