Carlisle Performance & Style, 8-10 May 2009
May 8 - May 10, 2009 Carlisle Fairgrounds, PA (an 82-acre complex) ![]() http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/pe...style/index.asp If anyone is planning on attending, here are some money saving tips = Entrance fees are: Adult Admission: Fr. $15 /Sat. $20 /Sun. $15 /3-day Pass $35 Child Admission: under 12- FREE To save money enter an event and besides getting two $35 weekend passes you'll save on the parking fee because you will have an entry for your vehicle. 2009 Carlisle Performance & Style JUDGED Showfield, Price: $50.00, Register a car, truck, SUV, or sport bike to compete in the judged showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people. 2009 Carlisle Performance & Style NON-JUDGED Showfield, Price: $40.00, Register a car, truck, SUV, or sport bike for the NON-JUDGED showfield. Park with your friends or club and still be a part of the showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people. 2009 Carlisle Performance & Style Top Flight “Elite 50” Competition, Price: $75.00, Judged by NCCA, this registration is for an INDOOR spot and includes weekend admission for two people. Top Flight registration is limited to the first 50 participants and will NOT be available at the event - all participants must pre-register. 2009 Carlisle Performance & Style dB Drag Racing & Bass Race Competitions, Price: $50.00, dB Drags pose two vehicles head-to-head to see who has the loudest stereo. Base Race is a head-to-head stereo competition where competitors play commercially available music for 30 seconds (no burps, test tones, burned cd’s or sine waves). Registration includes weekend admission for two people and allows you to compete in one or all of the audio contest events. 2009 Carlisle Performance & Style Showfield / dB Competitions Bundle, Price: $75.00, This registration will cover your vehicle for the outdoor judged showfield as well as both dB Drag & Bass Race audio competitions. Registration includes weekend admission for two people. If you need to stay in a hotel, don't call the hotels in Carlisle directly. They have the car shows schedule and jack up the prices for those weekends. If you go to the hotel chain's website and use the national call center number for whichever hotel you want, you'll get the normal going rate for a room based on what the national hotel chain thinks it should be. for example, the Econo lodge for the 2009 show wants $135 a night when you call the front desk. This is crazy becasue its a Econo lodge! The national call center is quoting the same room for $75 a night. They are forced to honor it by federal sanctions. Once you book either online or through the call center, it is a legally binding contract stating that you reserved that room for that rate. The only person that can break that contract is you by cancelling your reservation. Also, since the hotels are all independently owned and operated chains (a franchise) that is how they get away with jacking the price up when you call them directly. If you book online or by phone through the reservation centers, you are guarenteed the natinoal price. See you there!

Well...if you want to reserve a hotel room that is close to the fairgrounds and get it at the cheapest price I would suggest you do it as far in advance as possible before the hotels are fully booked. If you want to enter a car in the Elite 50 (only 50 vehicles) and get an indoor spot I would suggest you do it soon. Just throwing it out there for those who may be interested. Plus if anyone is thinking about going I was just tossing out some money saving tips that work at this event.
But yeah, we plan that far in advance for some shows and meets because we compete in them. Besides this one we are planning on being at the ASME Wilkes show 25 April 09, N15 Niagra 24-27 July 09, RPR NEC 09 on 19 September 09 and Droptoberfest in October 09. And then there are meets that just happen we attend too.

Update on Top Flight judging change:
NCCA is no longer the rules/judges they will use for the Top Flight "Elite 50". The Top Flight portion of P&S will now be part of the F4 Challenge http://www.f4challenge.com . F4 Challenge is the brainchild of Andy Goodman, founder of the NCCA (National Custom Car Association) according to their website. I guess he wasn't happy there as the director of the NCCA for the past seven years and for 2009 decided to part ways with that organization in efforts to create the ultimate car show chase.

i go every year and it wont be any different this year, except ill have a mazda this time. i'm usually in the non-judged field so i get weekend tix and hassle-free parking. i'm glad i don't have to worry about a place to stay cause it gets bad. the circuits are always fun afterwards, too.

very true. Looking forward to it this year. Just debating on coming through Fri or Sat. Last year Fri was dead....I mean dead. But saturday was much more live. Good times anytime we come through to Carlisle. It's a weekend get away of cars, friends, and overall good time!

Most of the people on here are going to be at the Performance and Style Show coming up next week. Not so much the Import/Kit Replica show.
