junkyard run

Hitting Harry's in Hazleton and Easy Pull and Save on the way tomorrow morning/afternoon. Need a front bumper, turn signal, headlight for my kid's '99 Sentra. Also looking for spare parts for the CRX. If you're in the area - look me up.

I came up empty. Found a bunch of '96 Sentras, but I don't know if they are interchangeable. Tomorrow I will hit up Harry's in Pennsburg, but I am not really expecting to find what I need. After that it will be ebay. FTL

I DO need to go back to Harry's in Hazleton - they had 2) 1st gen CRXs

What all are you looking for the crx? I could ask my buddy macho and see if he has any parts laying around.

Nothing really, my car is "done". I'm always looking for spare stuff since 1st gens are few and far between. I do need an Si head from an '85-'87.

Last few times I was at harrys in hazelton their import car section is terrible either they don't get a lot of them or they get ravaged before I get there. Considering the area and the clientel I'm going with the later. I need to try pennsburg

Harry's Pennsburg I went there at like 2-3 times so far and I have seen only 2 2G Eclipses/Talons and both were almost completely stripped. I here his other lot has at least 10-15 at a time but it is like an hour drive.

Surprisingly I found the bumper beam, brackets and corner light for my kid's Sentra and a hood for my mother in law's Camry in Pennsburg. Harry's in Hazleton is usually worth the trip simply because of it's size. I like EZ Pull and Save because it's close and on the way to Hazleton. I'm wondering what other junkyards are in the area?

BTW-still need a '99 Sentra bumper and headlight.

I live about 10 minutes from Harrys in Hazleton, and that's only due to the dozen stop signs to get there lol

When I first saw you were going there for CRX parts I was like, oh $%^@, when is he going cause there aren't any. Then I realized I was too late and later found out you got an older one.

I go to Harrys some-what often, and need to go again soon for some little things. I also get my tires there, $8 a piece while on sale (usually every Monday) and I can put them on myself as I have my own machines.

If you ever want me to look for something for you feel free to get a hold of me (this goes for most others as well). I know I took some 1st gen CRX parts for a friend once. If I am planning on going for something for myself and have time to look around for something for you I will, or if there is a large enough list I will just go some day I have nothing to do. If I am to get anything for anyone I will only if I know you are not going to bale out on me, and will want slightly more than they will charge me. I do have a current price sheet so I can give you prices on parts. If I was to get parts for you we could possibly meet up at some point or I can ship them as well. I know it is basically winter time now but during the summer I do hit a lot of autocrosses in the area; NEPA, CPR, Susq, Philly, and may even try to get to DC or NJ some next year so I can always bring the parts with me to those.

Feel free to send me a PM on here, e-mail (ktulay@gmail.com) or message on AOL (Kup0p) if you want to discuss anything.

BTW, did you see the one 1st gen CRX, that thing got sandwiched bad! I think it was a black one, and then there is the blue one in the far back near the fence.

Oh, and if you'd be interested I hear some of the 1st gen Integra parts are useful for the 1st gen CRX, namely the front suspension or possibly rear and rear brakes. There are 2 of those Integra's back near the blue CRX in the back against the fence.

I was at EZ Pull once and honestly did not like it. Despite going in the rain it really sucked to pull a hand truck around behind me while off-roading off the huge amount of loose parts laying on the ground. I know there are loose parts around at Harry's as well but they do, do a decent job of cleaning it up when removing old rows of cars.

I also didn't like how the cars are generally just up against each other in EZ Pull or that some are not even in the air to access parts and the ones that are, are not usually in the best manner. They use large cement blocks and generally only have the front of the car up in the air.

They do have a some-what decent classic/old car selection there, and a small section with about 20 old VW bugs.

Unless someone I know is going there or I am really looking for a certain part again I don't plan to go back to EZ Pull again. However you probably do stand a bit of a better chance the cars won't be stripped as quickly there compared to Harrys in Hazleton.

Last time I was at Harry's in Hazleton there was 1 Miata. I can't say it was a 1g or not because I don't know the differences too well but it did have pop up headlights so it was an older model. This was honestly the first Miata I ever saw there but it was in very bad shape. It was rolled over and almost everything was gone. I know the entire drive-train was gone, and there was really nothing useful on the body or left in the interior which was open as the top was down or off.

I was going to go to Harry's today, but the weather looked yucky. I need to pull the head on the red 1st gen there and try to find a shifter boot. there was 2-1st gens there last weekend. Other than that, I really don't need anything in particular - but always am looking for spare parts. Teg stuff I don't need, I already have the rear brake swap in my rex. I could possibly go tomorrow, but that is slim.

hardly ever any s14 coupes, mainly just the older hatches like the 90 and 91's that are popular
