for my bday, my gf got me a brand new sony dcr hc 52 minidv camcorder from bestbuy. it came with a software cd for the computer, a charger cable, and a tv cable. oh and a battery. lol thats it.

the camera does not have a USB outlet on it, but instead has an ilink thing. i think its called an IEEE outlet. my computer however, does not have the firewall thing i heard i should be using. it just has a USB connection.

i want to be able to get vids onto my comp and online. could someone please help me find the right cable to use? i have a lot of good vid to show everyone...

you need a firewire cable... go to Best buy or comp USA and buy firewire ports, they can be installed into your desktop in like 5 mins. I installed mine when I got my video camera as well.
