What year are you looking at? 02-04 or 05-06?

"is that all"? 160 -> 200 is a pretty large jump in power. 25% increase actually. The type S motor revs about 1500rpm higher, has iVTEC on both intake and exhaust (base is only intake), different cams, and different lots of other things to. The 6spd gearing is nice to. The base RSX is not much of a performer at all. You'll be hard pressed to match a stock RSX-S with a bolt on modded base AFAIK.

i have an 02 type s and compared to the base. it's definetly got more kick. The type s also comes with leather seats and a bose subwoofer stock.

if you are going to go with the rsx, save and get the type s. it's definetly worth it.

if you're going to be building the motor and doing alot of engine upgrades, save yourself the money and get the base model then go from there.

things the type-s comes with as opposed to the base model

k20a2 200hp ivtec motor (or k20z1 210hp in the 05-06) as opposed to the k20a3 160hp
6-speed transmission w/ 4.4 final drive (05-06 has a 4.7) as opposed to the base model 5-speed
slightly stiffer suspension, i believe larger front & rear swaybars
slightly larger front calipers & rotors
bose stereo system
the 05-06 comes with 17" rims & tires as opposed to all other models coming with 16's

if you are going to mod the car, i would get the base model and get a tsx motor (k24) with a 6-speed trans

Save money, to spend a TON on a swap?

But yea, the Type-S, aside from the performance, has a TON of other options/goodies that the base cannot have.

you can get a base model for about 3-4K less than a type-s...maybe more if it has higher miles

then you can get an entire swap (all you need is the tsx motor, rsx-s trans, mounts, and an ecu)... whats that, maybe $4-5k? if you know someone with a salvage license you can get a full wrecked tsx 6-speed for $4k (friend of mine got his for $3500) then you can part out the tsx.

granted some people dont want to deal with all that hassle unless you want more power and to save some money

I had some retard try to tell me that the type S had LSD... I told him that he is an idiot and he said he work at the dealer and that he would know better than me... I laughed and it was quite funny.
