finally found myself a 240

well i've been lurking around here for a few months and posting every now and then, but i've finally found a new car so i'd figure i'd introduce myself. my name is andrew and i'm from cheltenham (right outside of the east oak lane/olney part of philly) and i just picked up a stock 1993 240sx se from jersey.

it's pretty clean, but has some quirks. it's got a little rust by the sunroof, some of the paint is fading, but nothing really that major. it's got a bad instrument cluster, but the guy gave me a replacement so i just need to install it. the headlight button doesn't work (but the switch on the turn signal stem does), and it's missing the passenger side window button (which also still works). probably the worst thing is that i think it needs new motor mounts. i thought it had a rough idle because the car would shake a little bit at idle, but the rpm's stay constant, so i don't think it has to do with the engine itself.

but anyway, here's some pictures:

as far as mods go, i just plan on doing basic bolt-ons for now since i'm on a pretty tight budget. but i plan on getting the full exhaust done, intake, lowering springs, short shifter, and probably some more stuff in the future.

If you put a silvia front end on it. You'll go to hell, just sayin.

Oh yea, the girl in the last pic is staring at the bottle of water.

lol, i'm pretty sure she had no idea the picture was being taken. my friend took those pics on his sidekick right after we got back to school from lunch.

and i wasn't planning on doing a silvia conversion. only if in the future i picked up another coupe and did an sr20 swap too. as of now i don't plan on any exterior mods except paint depending on how cheap i can get it done. i was always an advocate of the saying "go over show".

@snowboy: i put my plans at the bottom of my first post.

Welcome to TST! 240 owners are my favorite members =) Haha

I know you can get a DIY paint job for like $60 if you have the time and the patience.

I rode in this car the other day, the interior is clean, just needs a little love on the outside and it'll be a real looker.
