what is this thing called?

I'm into booze... and old booze related things... so i picked this up today. Its some old pottery whiskey dispenser, but i can't find anything about them online because i don't know what this would technically be called.

And yes, it has been used... it smells like whiskey inside. I have no clue how old it is... but i'm guessing, and hoping, its a few decades at least

and yeah, **** you... i like cool antiques...

its a lot smaller than a keg, this would probably hold about a liter. And like I said, this was used for whiskey... you can smell it...

Ebay it "Whiskey keg".

Looks like an old promotional item for whiskey companies. I used to snatch them up anytime I was near the Good will store. Then turn around and throw them up on ebay for triple what I paid for them. It would pay for a tank of gas lol

Look on the bottom or uner the lid for a stamp or seal of the brand of whiskey or place of production.

good luck.

wtf is "style of a crock"?

not sure exact size... and my measuring tape is in the car. I'd say it would easily fit a liter and a half of liquid... possibly two. I'll take another pic of it with a cd for size

a lot of antique crocks are similar in styling/color. A common style is blue painting on the grayish porcelain.

We had a few of these at my grandmas house when she died. I'll have to ask my mom about them. I know some of them are worth quite a bit.

I think it depends on the number.

sweet! Mine has the number 4 on it. I'd be pretty stoked if its worth something... but i'd really just love to find out more about it b/c its pretty neat.

Worse case... i'll clean it out and toss in some whiskey
