Anyone have a skatepark they built, Or in there yard?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has ever built a skatepark, Me and a friend are thinking about building one in my yard and splitten the cost. Its gonna be about,,... 8 feet wide, and 18-20 Long, Anyone know what the cost would be on that?

8x20 seems awfuly small for a skatepark. Do you mean you are building a mini ramp?

It can get expensive no doubt. There are mini ramp blue prints out there on the net. From that you can price everything up alot easier. I would suggest hunting threw some industrial parks for wood like I did back in the day.

If you do build this PM me. I would love to give a helping hand and rip it when its done (If my body will still move that way).

I've build 2 mini ramps and an actual skatepark.

For that miniramp in the picture....your lookin at anywere from 1000-1500. You have to top the ramp with either Masonite or SkateLite. That stuff is pretty expensive too.

A REAL skatepark costs alot more. My brother used to have a private skatepark in Upper Darby. It cost 50k after everything was said and done. It was only 100ft X 150ft too.

sweet.. about 5 years ago i built a mini ramp in my back yard with my friends. 8 feet wide,21 feet long and 5 or so feet high... it was sweet. took five days to build. needless to say the neighbors got annoyed of us skating late at night so we had to take it down.

make it 16ft wide if you ride bikes, 8ft is NO fun. also, you dont necessarily have to top it with masonit if you're riding bike. Ive had a whole lot of fun on some pretty shady ramps. just make sure to seal it somehow.

Use thick ass plywood. its going to be a bitch to bend it to the curve but either soak it or have some large friends help with the bending to fit the tranny

Yes, good point. I see many backyard ramps, but you can barely do anything in transition or you'll fall off the side.

yea a good mini ramp should be like 3 layers. 2 layers plywood and then a layer of masonite. that way itll last way longer and will definitely hold up.
