I may me purcahsing a car from a fellow member here who resides in NJ. I live in NY.

How would I drive the car back after I purcahse it, legally? Do I need to get a temp. plate from somewhere? Temp registration? Can I toss my old NY plates on there from the car I just sold 3 days ago? I'm completely lost, I've never bought a car from a different state before. Also, how do I register it when I get back? I'm getting the car Sunday, so..

The only legal way is to buy the car and tow it home or register it after you buy it and then drive it back
