R.I.P. Rick Wright/Pink Floyd

Sad day for the music world. Pink Floyd is my favorite band, with Rick Wright being one of the founders and a master of the Hammond Organ. 65 years old.

My friend was pretty sad about this, he made me do a few shots in his memory with him LOL. I for one am NOT a pink floyd fan, besides for the song 'bike', but I can respect the man. RIP dude.

Syd was a druggie. ****ed his life up and separated him from the band. But hey, him leaving the band made a great album in Wish You Were Here.

Richard Wright made one of my favorite songs, Us and Them. I wish Waters wasn't such a cock back then ****ing things up for Wright and the rest of the band but wtf you gonna do.

RIP

I closed a tab in Firefox and this was the next one in line for me to read. "The Great Gig in the Sky" came on at that moment, even though I'd forgotten about this thread. Weird.

When I'm back with my high school friends in Allentown over break, we'll properly honor Wright.

RIP

Yeah, i heard about this, i guess it was a really short battle with cancer, i don't think the media knew about it, the family probably decided to just keep it secretive... I think my roommate and I are going to honor his memory this evening by spinning a few floyd albums and such.

I think I will wander into my basement and fire up the ol' Hammond and play some Floyd. I haven't played for a while and it just feels right to wake my neighbors with some 'Pigs' and 'One of these days'. Time to warm up the tube amp and get the tone generators spinning.
