Ever just get sick of driving older cars and wanna just go buy something new(er)?

I love my car, but man I just get sick of the bull**** all the time. Little things bug the piss out of me. One thing I hate is that my windows go up really really slowly, and they for some reason when I close the door they get stuck on the outer edge of the roof and try to break themselves off. And the fact that there is just ALWAYS something rattling, and its an uncomfortable ride. Sometimes I just wanna say eff it, keep it as a project, and buy a newer car to drive on a daily basis. (maybe something modable?) Anyone else ever have this problem? grr. I hate driving past dealerships and being like "oh man that is NICE! I'd rather have that then my car."

When I bought my acar, I actually down graded a year (1995) and went to manual windows and door locks. I am going to continue to go to school for two years, and work during the summer. Then once I graduate, I am going to save my money and buy something nice.

Every day. No A/C, manual windows, manual locks, ****ty motor that dumps out and has no power after 20 mins of driving. The rattles in everything, the beat up bench seat, bare bones interior. I could go on for days about it older cars.

But hopefully in 6 months or around Mid Feb I might be able to buy a brand new 09 car then. So I'll hold off and see what happens. Until then its the piece and me every day.

Not really, even when my 240 was my daily. I really ****in miss driving it everyday. I didnt mind the harsh ride and the rattles. The no a/c thing sucked in traffic but I got used to it. When I heard an interior rattle or squeak id just turn the music up lol. If your suspension is too stiff then adjust your suspension.

If your going to get something as a daily then I highly recommend not getting something you want to mod. Buy a cheap daily, save your money, or invest it into something worthwhile.

Yeah I hear ya, i'm on the same page as you. I have a 1995 Ranger w/ a boat load of miles, don't know how much, ****ty green interior, even ****tier green exterior, same as the inside, crappy manual windows, crappy manual door locks. Overall I am going to continue my education, start working as an apprentice plumber, and just continue to become a master plumber, open my own buisness and buy a decent truck.

I always flip flop around on what I want to do. lol. I love 240's, but I just kinda wish I could keep it as a project car/weekend thrasher more so then a daily driver. Over the past year or so, I've flipped flopped between 2 newer cars that I'd love to own. One, completely impractical in every aspect, the other much more practical but I still dont know. lol. Theres so many different routes I could take, just dont know what to do yet. I kind of feel like I want to "grow up" so to speak like cleanneon said (I'm agreeing with cleanneon?! ) idk.

The other reason is that I want to keep my truck a DD for now until I officially to move MD. The only reason I am considering this is because you only need to get your car inspected once, and when that is done, the modding will officially begin. 302 FTW.

your a fag. lets race

seriously though. growing up does NOT mean you have to buy a newer car. its just preference. if thats what you think, than congrats. give yourself a pat on the back for being all grown up

edit: come to think of it, my opinion is that its a bit childish to drive around worrying about what people think of you and your coolio ride. im honestly not really worried about 'being seen' looking like anything. who are you really trying to impress with a miata anyway?

I really miss my civic and I didn't mind the lack of a/c or the stiff ride or the minor problems here and there. every car has problems of some kind. since I got my new car though it's nice having a nice quick daily driver that you don't have to worry too much about. it's kind of nice having a softer ride yet it handles better stock than the civic did with some decent suspension work.

haha, its more than that for me, its the whole package. newer cars generally ride better, have more advanced technology, etc. Thats why I prefer them, at least for DD applications. Id much rather have my old 01 civic than a 95 just because interior quality, exterior, ride, sound, everything was just much nicer.

true true true. i guess for a pessemistic guy like me, more technology means more **** to fail, and more specialized tools to fix what breaks. im anti new tech when it comes to cars. im still trying to get used to obd2 i used to drive my pops saab once in a while, and that thing just made me **** my pants. it was telling me to put my seatbelt on and latch the vert top. i dont play that ****. if i wanted to be nagged i would go home. i hate new cars. but yes i guess they are nice in a lot of aspects

next time you see that ugly fast car. just remember its all about business. thats why my car is ugly and fast anyway. no time for games, just need it to do what i want it to do. and thats perform
edit: well i guess my car isnt fast. but relative to stock it is

There's something about spending 20+Gs for something that I'm driving back and forth to and from work with that just feels pointless to me. It's just preference really, I really have never desired to drive a newer car. Infact, I think most new car interiors are ugly as sin.

Only new car I'd ever want is a newer TL.
