Got a job doing voice overs. Who wants an autograph?

Just read my emails and found out I was selected to do voice overs for 100 e-learning medical classes.

I had a 4 hour interview last week reading a script in a sound booth and couldnt really tell if I got the job.

Seems as though I fit there needs perfectly, male, medical back-ground, comfortable with medical terminology, and I could point out mistakes with the script that the I/S people wrote. Plus I was the applicant with the least seniority who was in the pool of current employees to choose from.

Sweet, now I need to find around 400 more hours for me to fit into my schedule this semster.

Well all the other applicants were either M.D's, PA's, RN's, or CRNP's. And they were going for $45 and hour. So when I came along and was pretty much on the same verbal level as them for alot less I guess they liked me.

The pay hasnt been worked out yet. Its a odd situation. The hospital doesnt have any other positions for being a paid voice so while they are looking for a way to code it into the departments budget I have to wait and see what they are willing to offer. I was told they can at least match my current pay. Im guessing around $25 per hour for reading. They werent allowed to offer the position to the public because there is a hiring freeze on now. So it was a challenge for them to find someone already in the network on the pay level they could afford and willing to do it.

Which is a bargain because if you look at real voice over artists they are charging $45 per hour.

Gotta fund the cars somehow

$45 is cheap I'd say, hell a lot of VO talents I work with get $50-$100 to read a 60 sec commercial, literally takes like 10-20 min of there time...I think our rate to clients is usually at least $100 a page for none produced VO...

Anyways, not to take away from you making cash for VO, pm me if your hospital is looking for some production or VO work I think i might be able to hook you up with some affordable rates...

Ninja Edit: Actually if you have a decent voice and want to try and get into doing VO pm me too ;)
